I have came back for a few months now. I played several years ago as I had a few friends in SC that played as well. I have played a few characters just to try out different classes and learn about them. I had played Gorshnak, Inslo, Nando, a druid a cleric and as well my current character. After playing both a moderate and ruthless characters, and reading help files. I believe it has strayed from it's original purpose of helping those get through learning curbs as well as the few who enjoy the game for thrilling rp with the chance that you can die, cry, laugh or sing. After playing a moderate, It alomost felt you have to be more skilled to play then if you were ruthless. You have to have a more detailed knowlege of equipment and their locations and capabilities. In PK situations, you will have to make every decision count because you will definitely never have that perfect set of EQ to give your class that extra little bit of edge or protection. So in turn, that means I need start learning knowlege of consumables their uses and locations so that I can be better protected. If you are in a cabal, you will still die over and over all they have to do is attack your home, What are you to do watch that would be no fun. Cabal equipment is rare too, after playing a moderate, I would recommend it do those seeking a challenge, I wouldn't suggest it to a newcomer. My suggestion is that we switch the titles when you roll, Moderate will be ruthless, and Ruthless will be moderate. J/K It is nice that you can't lose everything down to the canoe and that the original concern was hoarding rares, but I suggest that a moderate newcomer can hold more rares then a Qrace crusader but less than a ruthless, and in turn maybe six things rare or not rare, can be taken from their corpse instead of two.
Moderate changes!
We're currently discussing some changes to lessen the learning curve for new(er) players a bit.

I think his concern was about something else....
As for rare cabal equipment, you can blame Reccum (Mister_E) for pwning everyone's faces with his moderate slith nexus thief that was deemed too OP...
That's the character that got cabal EQ turned rare.
No...I have my temper tantrums...the immortals hear everyones complaints. It's just if I wanna play die and respawn I can play Call of duty.
Oh! so cabal EQ used to not be rare?
You can't also hoard rares. Moderates can loot or be looted two rares. And gold.
I myself was against moderates at the start, as I though it was against the spirit of the game. But once I played one, and saw the Pbase reactions to moderates I changed my mind. Moderates are an excellent addition to the game.
Also moderates are not only designed for new players. They are also designed to aid players who have less time to play, and that would suffer a huge set back from a full loot.

In my view is not that you cannot have top protection. Or top offensive. It's that you cannot have both. You can chose one, the other or something in between.
If you can also die and re-spawn with Cabal outfit. Which is quite good.
PS: After reading you post all over again, I finally understood what you wished to say.
Changing from 2 rare loot to 6 anything loot and extending rare cap.
In my view this is a bad idea. If you do not have loot protection, what is the point of playing a moderate?
This would harm mostly the target of the Moderate thing. Newbies and people with little time.
If this was implemented what would happen would be that you would lose all consumables, and your best rares. Leaving those things you can get in a few minutes. This is what already happens to ruthless.
There are ways to lose all your gear in a moderate. If you die in a place you cannot come back to, you have to do the pit thing, and there are players who will try an succeed in getting all your things. Some players can be that petty.
You hit the nail on the head with one of your comments. YES!! You DO need to learn about consumables...however, the hard work is done for you. Just go to the wiki page and probably 95% of the consumables, with locations, are there. You just need to work out a routine for farming what you need.
Oh! so cabal EQ used to not be rare?
Indeed.
People complained about it though, and it got changed.

people always complain
Anume understood exactly what he was saying when she said a change to moderate is being discussed.
