Inventor – Gnome only Q-Class.

Construct: The Inventor creates a mechanical minion to assist in combat. This minion can be improved via certain inventions. Requires Steel Plating, Mithril Casing, Coarse Stardust, Copper Wire (2), Nuts and Bolts (2)

Spare Parts: The Inventor can strip down his construct or an invention to create parts.

Overheat: The Inventor’s construct gains haste for 10 rounds. After this effect wears off, it shuts down, unable to attack for 5 rounds.

Improvised Explosives: The Inventor creates an explosive out of spare parts and lobs it at the enemy. The explosions deal damage and disrupt the balance of the enemy. Not only does this remove the “Balance” affect, but it also knocks the target to the ground, like trip. Requires Coarse Stardust, Copper Wire, Steel Plating.

Fine Tuning: Functions like Enchant Armor/Weapon, except it can also be used on the construct.

Shape Metal: Destroys a piece of metal to create Parts. Parts are used to create inventions and constructs.

Detonation Sequence: Causes the Inventor’s construct to detonate, dealing damage in an area.

The Big One: The Inventor creates a giant explosive. This bomb deals immense damage, but is unstable. Sometimes, it does not explode. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it explodes TOO well, and deals half damage to the Inventor. Requires Coarse Stardust (3), Steel Plating (3), Mithril Casing, Copper Wire (2)

Different base metals are used to create different parts.

Mithril: Mithril Casing

**Starstone: **Coarse Stardust

Copper: Copper Wiring

Iron: Nuts and Bolts

Steel: Steel Plating.

Minor Inventions:

Targeting Goggles: Grants sense motion while worn. Face slot item, does not provide any armor bonuses. Requires Copper Wire (2) Nuts and Bolts (2), Shattered Glass, Mithril Casing

Precision Sensors: Construct upgrade. Increases hitroll of construct by 1 per 5 levels. Requires Copper Wire (2), Mithril Casing, Nuts and Bolts (2), Steel Plating

Saw Blade: Construct upgrade. Provides an extra slashing attack each round. Requires Steel Plating, Copper Wire, Nuts and Bolts, Mithril Casing (2)

Needle Deployment System: Construct upgrade. Provides an extra piercing attack each round. Requires Coarse Stardust, Copper Wire, Nuts and Bolts, Steel Plating

**Injection System: **Allows the Inventor to inject potions rather than hold and quaff them. Potions are used in the order that they are loaded. Max of 5 loaded potions. Requires Nuts and Bolts, Copper Wire, Mithril Casing

Focus Enhancers: Reduces effect of charm spells. Tinker’s Socket item. Requires Copper Wire, Coarse Stardust

Sensory Protection Apparatus: Head slot item. Provides svsmental and moderate AC. Has a Tinker Socket. Requires Steel Plating

Cranial Defense Bucket: Head slot item. Provides high AC and -5 svsaff. Contains a Tinker Socket. Requires Steel Plating

Tinker’s Microspanner: Mace. Has Tinker slot. Increases Fine Tuning proficiency by 25. Requires Steel Plating

Major Inventions:

Flamespitter: Construct upgrade. Periodically spouts fire as an area attack. Requires Steel Plating, Coarse Stardust (2), Copper Wire (4)

Explosive Caltrops: Construct Upgrade. Periodically drops explosives on the ground that explode if the enemy leaves the room. Enemies that trigger the explosion have their legs shredded by shrapnel, causing movement to deal small damage. Requires Coarse Stardust (4), Mithril Casing

**Rocket Fists: **Construct Upgrade. Provides a bludgeoning attack each round. Requires Steel Plating (2), Copper Wire (2), Nuts and Bolts (4)

Incendiary Grenade: Usable bomb. Explodes and lights the target on fire, which deals additional damage over time. Requires Coarse Stardust (4) Copper Wire, Mithril Casing

Flashbang: Usable bomb. Blinds in an area. Requires Coarse Stardust (4), Mithril Casing

Enervater: Tinker slot item. Increases mana, movement and hp gain. Requires Copper Wire (2), Coarse Stardust (2)

Emergency Stress Absorber: Tinker slot item. Provides burnproof. Requires Copper Wire, Mithril Casing, Nuts and Bolts (2)

Thermal Core: Tinker slot item. Converts all damage dealt to fire damage. Requires Copper Wire, Coarse Stardust (5)

Cryo Core: Tinker slot item. Converts all damage dealt to ice damage. Requires Mithril Casing, Coarse Stardust (5)

Automations:

**Grafted Defense System: **Chest armor. Has Tinker Slot. Requires Steel Plating(10), Copper Wire, Nuts and Bolts(6), Mithril Casing (2)

Grafted Demolition System: Gauntlets. Provides extra attack. Requires Steel Plating (6), Copper Wire (2), Nuts and Bolts (10), Mithril Casing (2)

**Self-Propelling Saucer: **Floating object. Provides flight. Requires Steel Plating (2), Nuts and Bolts, Coarse Stardust (10)

Automatic Field Repair Systems: Construct upgrade. Gives it the equivalent of regeneration. Requires Steel Plating(2), Copper Wire (5), Nuts and Bolts (5), Coarse Stardust (4)

Homing Missiles: Construct upgrade. Periodically fires a missile at the current target. This missile can’t be dodged. Requires Steel Plating, Copper Wire, Nuts and Bolts (10), Coarse Stardust (10)

Hard to do a class like that when we already have druids, and elementals being covered under giant restrings.

EDIT: Oh, and the whole werebeasts thing... Gaia already chose their ancestors.

But undeads for all classes. Demons for q good few. Avatar for all applicable races, saders for goods too. Lichs n vamps. Sigh

The gnome mind is well geared (punny) for invention and tinkering. I mean... Brambus... Really, though, gnomes have traditionally been the race that comes to mind when technology is considered in fantasy.

another great idea Enethier. unique, interesting and re-playability. the only qualm I have is the limited race selection. certainly a class the Gnomes, maybe even Brambus himself (or one of his apprentices to create some IG rivalry) created, but other races with superior intellect would make adequate practitioners.

We've been discussing inventions as a means of making the world more dynamic and changeable, and have an idea for how to go about it. Perhaps sometime soon you guys will start to get more gnomish-steampunk-dwemer stuff lying around...

As for this class, I like it. I think the inventor needs another way to get parts other than canabillising it's own creations. Maybe something more pet-focused, where the inventions are applied to the pet and are only available so long as the pet remains alive and in the inventor's presence.

And by the way, it's cool how league of legends inspires creativity in this way, isn't it? Hehe, helped me with some ideas, too.

It can also use items found throughout the game. Mithril gauntlets just sitting there? Sac them! Oh wait, no... MELT THEM DOWN FOR CASINGS! Gives the class much more to do with all of the junk it finds that it would normally just destroy for a spot of extra coin.

The one thing I don't necessarily like about this idea is how much prep time goes into it. Scrounging around for all those parts means that it takes a LOT to be a powerhouse. More so than even a Necromancer. I kept thinking about possible ways to lessen that burden without making the class too boring and easy, and what I came up with was .... well, I haven't really thought of anything yet.

Love it overall, but seems any higher mind race should be capable of invention perhaps gnomes get racial advantages in certain skills much like fast healing and regeneration with ogre zerks. Parts need variety and scarcity adaptations. Maybe higher level items give the rarest parts needed for higher level upgrades, and/or the skill proficiency itself could determine what you can make from items. The one pet aspect is great(constructs...are you reading out the D&D Monster Guide? I have more a lot more if inteterested.
