Ninjas in Warmaster

I suggest that ninjas should be allowed to join Warmaster by default.

They should also be considered rogues and get the same perks as thieves when in Gladiator.

In return they will lose their spells and the ability to study (not the ability to assassinate though).

I believe this would be a small incentive for players to play more melee oriented ninjas.

It will be too OP, I know what a melee ninja is capable of.Ninja in warmaster will be just insane. I myself never understood why thieves are welcomed in Warmaster from an RP point of view.Warmaster is a cabal for honorable warriors but thieves are masters of treachery, deceit and dirty tricks , where is the honor in this?

Well, you won't have cure light anymore, and no study too, so I think it's a reasonable trade.

Also, just because you are good with ninjas and you can take down characters that others can't, doesn't mean everyone has your abilities.

Now that's just not true.

Your class is not the major defining attribute of your character. That's align and ethos. And even then, being evil has nothing do with being honorable i.e. you can be both at the same time. Yes it is challenging, not impossible though.

Your class defines your behavior, if you are honorable loyal and dedicated to the honorable battles why you will place traps, blackjack your opponents, steal , pry , pilfer, backstab? Align and ethos have nothing to do with this, even if you are lawful good, you still don't fight honorable but by using dirty tricks and tactics that are doesn't fit in the Warmaster beliefs.

I wasn't talking about myself f0xxy, I was talking how ninjas have already enough melee power to take down every enemy.You have nerve pressure which lowers Str with -6, you have shadow arts that can lower your str with -4.Ninjas have six attacks by default, 1 bow , 1 shadow arts there are eight.Now think about the auto-triggered warmaster melee skills combined them with the push skill.I am big fan of ninjas but it is just not fair to the playerbase from balance point of view.

Yes indeed, I would rather want to see a bard in Warmaster, a songsmith that inspires his allies with battle hymns and etc, than a thief.Sure that they have steal aswell, but I see them more like a brawlers that sing and fight in the taverns, why then they cannot be warmasters?

Also I see nothing wrong with ninjas in Warmaster.

+9 STR is managable. If I can get 70 mal saves, I can get +9 for a ninja.

We are not talking about +9 we are talking about -10 str WITHOUT being poisoned, with poison stacked it is -12 or -14

Managable.

There is a crapload of good eq with +STR. Sure you might not be able to dress for other classes, but savants normaly just dress in HP gear.

Just think of necros.

Weaken -5 str

Poison -2 STR

Plague -5 STR

Chill touch -6 str +


= -18 str

So, I go find a light weapon to use. There's plenty of them.

Plus, by the time you make me -18 (or whatever number) str, you will be at -1000 HP.

Also, no idea what's this "insane amount of damage that ninja can dish" you are talking about.

There are many classes that can dish insane amounts of damage, I wouldn't classify ninjas as one of them.

Really? After there are plenty good light weapons why do you always use heavy weapon dualed with lighter?

There have been a couple ninjas in WM who also lost several of their abilities as a trade off. We'll leave it at exceptions when people apply for it and rp this very well.

Which abilities if not a secret?

I don't think it is consistent. Just whatever Anume feels like maybe.
