Berserk

Even when mastered, it fails a repulsively large amount.

Can something be done about that?

I know that if you are in battle the chance to fail is zero

Is that only when it's mastered? Because I know in battle that I fail a large amount pre-85 or so.

Yes only when mastered.

I've failed in combat a ton of times. Mastered.

And in combat, everyone has much more important things to do than buff.

More to the point - its three rounds lag when failed outside of combat and one round of lag when failed during combat. It also 'heals' you in combat so its worth waiting until you've engaged if you can spare a round.

Its a bitch when it fails - there is no two ways about it. You could always play a dwarf

Where the hell do you pull this info from?

If you fail it, it's three rounds of lag no matter whether you are in combat or not. Just like warcry. It also heals you no matter whether you use inside or outside combat.

As far as its success rate, it's close to 100% when mastered and in combat, and something like 80-90% when out of combat. I also think that it matters whether your "blood is rushing" i.e. you've recently fought or you are calm.

I agree with f0xx

Yep, Berserk tends to work more often when you actually have someone to be berserk about.

I just don't see why the 3 rounds lag on miss.

And Dwarves should get double the HP from Berserk.

Their bonus only means that they can skip berserk training.

Before two years dwarves could berserk even without having the skill. Not sure how it is now.

You mean that Dwaven Bards can berserk without the skill or clerics?

Well, dwarven BLMs were able to berserk. You are better of using frenzy though.

And this has been changed some time ago, iirc.

This is 100% incompatible with my experiences. I'll gladly lost logs where I'll fail it 6 or 7 times in a row.

Hahaha.

Everyone here is wrong. (Except the part of having improved chance while FIGHTING).

Adrenaline has nothing to do with it. Nor do you have 100% chance to successfully berserk if it's at 100%. And it definitely has everything to do with how much health you have (percentage wise) if it'll succeed.

YOU ALL SUCK!

Lol, fixed. JK

I think it sucks that it fails as often as it does. If nothing else, anger, fury, and dev zerks ought to have a proportionate increase in chance to got berserk. It doesn't make any sense that an ogre dev zerk would have just as easy of a chance of going berserk as a gnome warrior.

Please do.

I can post mine as well.
