Am I the only one that gets really annoyed being out on a guild quest and suddenly a clan quest comes out and you lose the guild quest you're on?
Quest replacement
I hate that. Especially when I am on the way to turn in the HARD guild quest I just spent almost the entire time compelting...
D'ont join clans before hitting 50. That removes that small anoyance.

Yes, but this solution cuts out the social and RP benefits of joining a clan early on. A far better solution would be to make it so they stop canceling each other - and it makes more RP sense as well.
Clan > Guild.
Of course, if you join the Academy, you don't have to worry about things like clan quests getting in your way.

He has a point though. When you join a clan, it's indicative of your dedication to the ideals the uphold. If you arent't willing to put the clan/cabal before your own gains, why should the cabal consider you?

If you are a well RPed evil, your own gains should always go before those of your cabal.
Of course, you shouldn't trump around it though.

I'm not really bothered about clan quests 'overwriting' existing guild quests, and I understand the logic of clan quests taking precedence. For the sake of argument though.... as an example, if my guildmaster asks me to do something in three days and my clanmaster asks me to do something in one day immediately after, why would I suddenly not be able to finish the task for my guildmaster after completing (or not completing) the task for the clanmaster?

This is pretty much where I'm coming from as well. By Elrozin's/Volg's logic, a clan quest should also overwrite any temporary quest that you are currently on or other level of quest progression (such as making way through Avalon/Gear), as obviously the clan and its needs should be more important. RP-wise, these are requests made of you by two entirely separate organizations, your clan and your guild - it should be up to the character which job he or she decides to give precedence, not up to the game coding, and they certainly shouldn't replace each other.

This is my point as well, as is Dey's post. I understand the importance of the clan, and it's implications. However, I don't see why it is enforced by being hard coded.
Also, if the clan always takes precedence, would hunting also be violating the oath sworn to the clan? While the quests are direct boons to the clan, and increase it's power and influence with each completion, are both of those not also increased by the personal milestones of the clan members?
Finally, not all people are in a clan because they wish to be. Some have forced allegiances. There are also those, as f0xx said, that serve the clan when it is in their best interest. While they may be admitted into the cabal at a drastically slower rate for it, I believe that the choice should still rest with the player.
Also, keep in mind that clan quests are often competitive tasks. As annoying as being about to finish a hard guild quest and receiving a clan quest is, it is infinitely moreso when twenty seconds later someone else finishes it and you get jack for your trouble. Stopping it from overwriting guild quests would be nice from this angle as well.
