we ever gonna bring this back? I know they raised exp all together, but I still think this idea has fantastic merit.
Dbl exp days/weekends
It wasn't just raised... it was doubled iirc. Characters already gain 1200 XP on a kill, how much more do you want it to be?
And while we are on the subject, I've noticed that some bug occurs from time to time and I don't gain the double XP.
Like, you hunt with a full group and gain ~400 XP. You raise a level and start gaining ~900.
I'm not complaining or anything, but just as an observation, I've ranked a char to fifty recently that I deleted almost straight away at fifty and I'm ranking up now a new one, and the norm for me is 600-800 xp per kill. Very rarely get near 1000, and can't recall having higher. Who is regularly getting 1200 per kill?
Dey
that is cause someone loged and we have 10 or more.
I was getting 1500 on dryads on my new char.
in a group or by yourself?
Also F00x, it appears to be some limitation on xp based on rank. Higher level mobs give little xp, then give more as you close the gap, and then start to guive less as you close/surpase.
1500xp ... I get 800xp on a good kill with a mage (1 min max) and am quite happy to farm 200xp 4 rounds mobs.
There could be some value in "exp days" if they're visible enough for new players to recognize when they are and so have a chance of finding a group and the necessary people to pass on the know how of things. Logging into a game where there's no one to group with and noone to tell you wtf is what is a game killer. Most new people to the game, those just popping in, probably wouldn't bother coming back for it though if they didn't bother to stay in the first place.

Your group affects this. I have no idea of the formulas, but rawly pictured, if you're getting 1,2k per kill, it means that someone in your group is getting that ~400 per kill.
Not sure if this is still in effect (and of course, assuming that my memory serves correct), but there was a exp-gain-limiter working in a manner that if the mob your group is hunting is a lot higher in level than you, you just don't gain much from it. That certainly would explain the "from 400 to 900 after level gain", which I've faced occasionally as well.
Indeed.
Also, I can't understand how I am killing civilians alone at rank 37 and I get ~400 XP, then when I become level 42 I get ~600 XP.
It just makes no sense to me. The harder the mob the more XP one should get, right? It seems not though.
It's to prevent abuse.
For example some L50 tanking a L50 mob to awful, and then some lowbie landing the kill blow and getting a full level on a single kill.
Mya, you really read and understand things the way you want.
I was not talking about getting 10k XP on a mob, but at least the norm, not less though.
actually f0xx she is right. It is to prevent people from lame kill steals. Imagine the level 30 invoker who is kill stealing the kelp farmers from a legit hunting group (which he can easily do). He would level at lightning speed.
Same thing with invokers and pentagram. Once I get mana charge I dont ever leave the pentagram strictly because I can solo kill everfything with great ease.
she is right foxx.
