get last

I wish vials and herbs had a last in last out policy when bagged.

I wish there was expansion into the "get"(/take) command(s): get last. Or get 0. (as like get 1.).

My problem mostly have been the cure blindness potions. "What?! I two weeks ago horded ten of them, week ago I collected another ten, I short ago used five of them, and now I have only five left!"

There has been suggestions like that before, I can't remember if it was shot down or not though.

The major problem here comes from the sanctuary herbs though, and should a warrior be able to easily pick the herb that has been sitting in his backpack the longest i.e. the one that is just about to decay.

Such a change would have huge impact on melee and would make their time easier.

Should this be so though?

It might have been my suggestion.

Yet, if that melee has a horde of preserved herbs in there, it wouldn't matter, ay? And you can already get your own collected herbs preserved with few coins.

Plus, you can always create a script to take that last vial from the container. Thus, all those who know how to create such a script are in huge better situation than those who don't know. (I'd believe there is players who'd rather play the game than study how to script for the game)

Have you ever tried to keep twenty cure blindness potions (as an example) in your backpack, filling the amount per use? If you do, then you would have noticed that you use aproximately about two out of ten potions you gather into there, because eight out of ten crumble, because you always take the freshest from top. And if you use that twenty potions before they crumble, the crumbling does not bother you in the slightest.

You make it sound like getting a horde of preserved herbs is kids play heh.

It is much much easier to look after your red potions than for your herbs. After all, herbs decay much faster than potions, besides you can buy 10-15 of them every day from Lerant.

Besides why do you take the defensive position? I never said I disagree with the suggestion. I simply asked a question - should melees have easier time than at the moment?

If that melee knows people who can preserve, it's kids play, as long as he keeps collecting herbs to be preserved. Ay?

If room spawns once per five minutes (I don't remember the exact number), and you succeed to collect one herb for one hour without interruption, you end up with 12 pieces of that herb. Lerant doesn't make potions with that pace.

Defensive position maybe because my earlier suggestion was almost shot down. And in my view, it doesn't make life for any specific class any easier, it makes our, players, life easier when we don't have to either create scripts to gain the benefits this suggestion gives, or to pay more efford because items crumble - even those we use frequently. Besides, there is other ways to get sanctuary with items that don't crumble, and that can be used during fight without removing anything, thus from the view of battle, this would not make things much different than they currently are.

Another benefit for this would be in this situation:

I have a bag full of items of several types that contain word "red" in their names. I know what's the last item in there, yet it would take rather unnecessary effort to count all of the items in the bag to get the bloody last one of them. Instead, if I could just type "get 0. red bag", I could be done with it quite easily.

Please don't counter my above example with something, because I could very easily counter it with another example. Like that I have more than 50 wands in my bag, last of them can be addressed only with "wand". Now, why make casting type's life any easier, as we can't do that for melee?
