Why do you make these rotdeath, and make 2 ways (near guarantees) to die?
Lets say to get that I spend over 200k (realistic for those of you who don't do darts) to get it. I then take a death while getting another to lose the first? These items need changed or toned accordingly so they can be non rotdeath. It is enough risk getting them. It was an awesome mechanic to do, but it is so often overlooked because of the price/risks.
You can always drop them on the ground until you get the 2nd.
I feel thats some kind of WICKED ooc to IC knowledge. I mean hell, if you had a Bentley, that was rotdeath, you would not CARE because well if you die, your not coming back for your Brooklands.
I ******* hate that dart board! I HATE IT!
Perhaps it was made that way so that you "should" only be carrying one of them at a time... Just a thought...
Then they need to be marginally stronger. You can get the same stats with several combinations of eq without risking death to get it, or losing it on death
Unless an IMM says you can't put the item on the ground, I don't see how it is OOC. You gained the "detect magic" ability to know it is rot_death...that implies your character now knows.
But you shouldn't expect to reclaim an item after you miraculously came back from the dead.
I actually had a character get into deep trouble back in the day for dropping my items at my pit, knowing I was going to die, and then going back to reclaim them.
Doesn't change anything...I still hate that F'ing DART BOARD! It kills me more than anything else in the game! And yes, my luck was incredibly high!
Although, one time I got this really cool two-handed weapon from it....
All I ever win is a Kiss.
All I ever win is a Kiss.
grabs Croyvern and tips him back, planting a big wet sloppy one on him
Didn't cost you 15,000 gold, either.
Hmm Anyone care to play against me?
