Double Sheath, the misrepresented skill.

Ninjas can only doublesheath exotics and this is actually helpful in a way. It is odd though that if you sheath your weapons you cannot hold a stave unless your second sheathed weapon is exotic. A cleric for instance can sheath a mace and then hold a wand while also holding a shield and they don't even have doublesheath. The same applies to thieves as it does to ninjas but replace exotic with dagger.

The odd thing is that if you sheath a primary weapon and hold a stave you can then proceed to second sheath any weapon type, it doesn't even have to be exotic or dagger.

The problem here comes from another thing.

If you play a class that doesn't have doublesheat at all, when you use a two handed weapon and sheat it, you can then wear a wand and zap yourself.

Same applies to weapon+shield, but if you are dual wielding and you sheat your weapons you can not use wands unless you remove at least one your weapons.

The last time Hit&Run brought this up and Zhokril's reply was that this was a down side to dual wielding, so it has nothing to do doublesheat.

My opinion on this matter is that the Game Mechanics are broken in this subject.

  • Double sheath skill should allow you to sheath four single weapons, Two Twohanded weapons or a mix of both.

  • You should also be able to hold a staff/wand/potion/treasure/object on one hand while having the said weapon sheathed. Even with two or four weapons sheathed.

Claiming it to be a balancing factor, is in my view wrong. And a bad excuse for the existence of the problem.

Specially when you have almost lag-less smoking, and almost lag-less pill potting (heart).

If something is wrong on how fast you can use that Staff of Sanctuary (which appears to be the main item affected), it should be dealt with on the item and not in the sheath mechanics.

PK impact of this change would be minor in my opinion. Inferior to, lets say, the introduction of Monks and Blademasters disarming cursed weapons.

Mya, finally something we both agree on.

I also agree, Mya. I'm alright with monks disarming cursed weapons, but blms seems a bit much to me. What can't they do/defend against?
