Death Religion Sacrifice

I was just thinking about religion specific skills that could me incorporated to all religions eventually. For example,

a Death religion could sacrifice a life, their soul, for a buff for selflessness, if Anume grants them another chance

that is. I dunno, just an idea floating around, could add more dynamic to religions as a whole.

edit: blah, blah, that's what bless is for. Could be something other than bless, of course.

Yeah I like it- like doing a ritual and what not- I can see where you are going.

What have I told you about thinking up new ideas....

This would be easy to do with Altars.

Just need something of worth to sacrifice.

As we are talking about sacrifices.

Can we please not have your religion displayed when you sacrifice an object?

If anyone wants to know they can ask or cast the spell (which no one practices ). This way you can hide the fact that you worship death or Greed.

To hide your religion almost borders blasphemy. As if you are ashamed people will know. But it would give reason for people to practice that spell.

It would be a BLESSING if we could hide our religions. Unless you're a cleric, it isn't blasphemous. It can be a necessity.

I am for this.

You also made me think of another idea:

What if religion shrines gave a buff? So let's say you use your own shrine and you get the bless affect. And then to make it even more awesome, let's say you use the other two shrines in your religion (ie: Purity, Tranquility, and Compassion), and you get a better buff. For Life religion, it could be "Valor of the Penitent" or something like that. Various bonuses for each religion, maybe.

I think that would be pretty neat.

have you tried sacrificing rare items on your religions shrine?

Hmm I have an interesting idea. What if this skill was given to paladins at 30 or 50 and they would be given the choice to sacrifice one of their friends or family (which would be a real player ig). Only then will they be able to form the most unholy of pacts with the Gods...

This could lead to another qclass. Imo dks these days have gotten way too soft. Sitting and talking goodies into believing they're actually not evil? I mean come on now. What kind of villain are you? Dk's are THE EMBODIMENT OF EVIL! Maybe we do need to introduce death knights this way.

I like your idea, and I like the original sacrifice idea. For Death it could be your soul, greed say like 1mil gold, combat a unique weapon/armor, etc etc. Would be great IMO.

One thing I would suggest is to make it a type of quest deal, where you know you have the ability to sacrifice something, but the where and what are something you need to figure out, like a greed cleric saccing 60k gold gets a buff, but he has no idea that if he did a full mil that it could be so amazing.

On second thought, making DK a quest class is cool and all, but doesn't evil have enough options for Q-class?

Deception is quite evil.

But a quest for Paladins becoming Death Knights would be awsome. Even if a Death Knight is just a Dark Knight with a Death Knight Tittle.

Oh I can see it now. The paladin turning on one of his closest friends. Overpowering him in combat and mercying him. Then while stunned he makes a pact to give up his soul in exchange for his friends life and a chance to make his dreams come true. And then the deathblow comes. The birth of death Knight is now mwhwhhaha.

See. That is not how you get a qrace. That is how you get outcast.

At first I liked the idea, then I read nameless' reply and I kinda agree with it.

Well being Outcasted shouldn't always be bad. And this qclass scenario revolves around the idea. Its the whole point . It should be a lvl 50 remort class with your rp leading up to that moment. I suppose only when your app is accepted you are finally given that quest. So the whole time at 50 you're playing a good paladin not a trashy one looking to backstab someone.

Got derailed. bring it back! Whadduyah think, Shrine bonuses for religions that are specific to the religion. Could be fun, would inspire people to maybe RP their religion a bit more.

I like the idea of the bonuses, but I fear that it would lead to even more intense power-gaming. With the use of consumables, we already have a whole new level of preparation to combat/use ourselves. I think that if we added a whole set of blessings, we could definitely count on people picking religion based on the boost; which I think is against the point of most of the religions.

It just seems that people would pick the religion based on the buff, not RP. Not everyone of course, and I'm sure those who did would find a way to incorporate the RP, but really? Another way to powergame?

I totally agree with Elfrosto on this one. It's already like that with clerics and divine intervention.

except everyone could do it, and it would only be a boost of hp or saves, or something small that everyone gets from armor anyway.
