Dwarven racial skill.

what would be the point in that? if i wanted a useless weapon i'd pick up one of your clerics and wield it We could even give it a cool title.

This comment can quite easily be filed under "F". for ****ing win.

I think you misunderstood what i wrote.

When I say Forge, I mean give a bonus to an already existing weapon in inventory. Not create a weapon from thin air.

I think you have been smoking to much herbs

This would create problems with uniques and rares if it puts them back in circulation.

Less then [Drum-roll] Enchant Weapon [/Drum-roll], a at will vocker spell.

You' date=' sir, have lost all credibility for denying anything using the argument of lacking RP. I should take you to the RP shed. This doesn't really do ANYTHING great. How hard is it to get a decent weapon or shield? It's not. This just adds some RP spice.[/quote']

Please, getting a nice 27 avg damage weapon of WHATEVER kind you wish, with a nice effect, FOR FREE is far from a RP skill.

Just for comparison there, CABAL weapons which COST have 25 average damage. Rokujan has 28.

We are not talking about RP here, gameplay and balance should always come first and comparing this case with the cases of new classes is foolish to say the least.

Wanting to give more to a race that is already one of the strongest out there? I would actually say dwarves need some toning down instead, but why am I being devil's advocate her, I would be the first to roll another dwarf BLM if this happens (my last dwarf BLM used a 25 average weapon in his offhand btw, I would very much enjoy a 27 average one with an added effect that comes for free).

[edit]

****ing beautiful man! I say raise the average dam a bit. Remove that negative. Make it half their level +2. It's a freakin' dwarven made weapon! And maybe allow a shield if they don't want a weapon' date=' but they can have one in existence at any one time.[/quote']

Should have added this the quote too.

I thought Croyverns idea made it so average damage is 23? 50/2=25-2=23? Or did I read it wrong? Also is there a big difference between 23 and 27? If not ignore my math correction and carry on.

That is exactly what Croyvern said. I thought it would give dwarves, proven smithies, a chance to fabricate their own weapons and not need to hold what they would consider lesser weapons like the dagger Foxx mentions. Yes some will say why would the dwarf want a 23 when he could have a 28, because he can be proud of the 23, and no one can ever keep him from attaining it.

There was a suggestion that the AVG damage would be 50/2 + 2, I was replying to that.

Even if it is not 27 but 23, I am asking you why? Because dwarves are good smiths? Seriously?

You want a weapon with a nice effect (for free) and you call this RP skill?

I am really really asking you why do you want to make dwarves' life easier? THEY ARE A STRONG PK RACE. One of the best races for clerics/blademasters/bards/warriors (I wish they could be thieves too!).

Should an already strong race get a boost, no matter how small (and this is not a small boost mind you)?.

Yes, because not only is an interesting and creative expansion, it would also lend a lot of support for adding other racial skills to other races as time goes on.

If that is the case then alright, lets see the rest of the project and discuss it.

Suggesting to boost ONLY one race that is already one of the best races though is not a good idea.

cast 'animate thread'

Let's do it. To balance we can just add more, and better, water weapons.

Uhh I think this can be easily solved by just lowering the dwarf magic resist perk. That perk makes much less sense than the master smiths they are **supposed **to renown for. I don't think I've ever seen a Dwarf rp anything of a blacksmith other than mobs and weapons hard-coded into the game already. With all the addition to saves in the game why hasn't this perk evolved as well? Why does it need to be so strong in this new day and age?

Given the craft skills it would be easier now than ever before.

I actually completely agree.

Halfling resist has been tweaked due to BLM. How many halfling you see playing? And we have human goodie mages at 50's.

I don't think taking anything from dwarves is the way to go..

I think seeing human mages is a good thing. When you type who and only see a handful of races over and over... It begs the question, "Why?"

Because they are stronger.

Example:

Its hard to justify seeing anything other than an ogre or fire giant as a warrior. Why? Because ogres and fire giants are blatantly overpowered in those classes.

I've done many other races than those two as a warrior and its dulled greatly in comparison. So, when someone has an overpowered ogre warrior that they use to steamroll the player base, then other people make that combo to compete.

( I've had ogre, FG, dwarf, storm, stone, feral, and slith warriors. All at 50, for the record. )

If I wanted a warrior, why would I pick a race that is worse than ogre? RP? Sure. I can see that being a reason, but your combo will be weaker.

Players take a combo that is strong and adapt their RP to it. Not vice versa.

EDIT:

Thankfully the Staff has/is implementing certain pieces of equipment that will even the playing field for non-giant melees.

Edited

My question was rhetorical. Though Trick did get right to the heart of it.

I think if we made the number of attacks per round more closely tied to dex and reduced ogre dex a little...
