Halloween Madness Tournament

@Twinblades713 and I were talking in discord not long ago, about how we wanted to do a rematch between Nebu and Agmeel. It got me thinking that this HM we should do a special year of the dead event where we could have a time set aside for this. 

HM in character event featuring long dead characters to compete in combat to amuse the gods with a reward of peace in the afterlife or a goal your character wanted to accomplish.

Either restore and load the characters into the HM port, or through imm assistance have a copy of the character created. Everyone who wants to compete has a character of theirs on standby for when the time comes. 

Each player has their character placed in a bracket at random and those players can coordinate when the fight goes down.

I feel this would create some awesome rp, the chance to play a character you missed while being in character and some awesome logs of such.

Is there a reason you couldn't do this without having to specifically reference a potentially long deleted character file (not sure what the data retention, etc. is)?

I don't know what the rules will be for this HM, but if it is like two years ago, essentially you could create a character with that name and have an Imm set you up with any custom race, etc.

However, the notion of achieving some goals and this being a specifically organized things does have some allure. I suspect one of the goals to be you want to have a fight without others just jumping in, this is probably the best way to go about it.

I thought the Halloween Madness was an OOC event?

I believe the intent is to run this as a separate event? Maybe @Twinblades713 or @Unknown Brother can clarify this point on what they are envisioning?

My vision is that this year instead of HM, we have this tournament style bracket system in character rather than ooc. A chance for dead legends to come back for some rp and pk. Where you have Agmeel interact with Thulgan. Ragnomar fighting Decemus. 

Even rematches from the grave. Rheinian and Ivesanna squaring off one more time. 

@Lexi mentioned there’s not enough RP logs, this could create some fun and entertaining logs for both pk and rp.

Count me out.

Honestly my only experience with HM, is that it has 00000.0000 RP.

I like the concept proposed, but I would rather us not necessarily use past characters. A bracket tiered epic dueling. My suggestion would be: you get your base class/qclass, plus two-three skills/spells you can select from others.  Ladder tiered and you can only use non-rare/unique EQ or just the base Halloween Armor. Would be fun to have a more organized and planned event around HM, but still just let people play their crazy combo's and mess around (in the true spirit of the day).

I love it.  I shall recreate Pali and poke you all into oblivion... or at least be somewhat annoying with it.  Either's good by me.

I am actually puzzled if we ever had a discussion of the implementation of like a PK mode/port. Basically can do whatever really- teams, cap the flag, Domination (hold a room/area down).

Not only fun, but it allows people to actually playtest things, staff alike.

Now to think of it, it could even be run as an event mode as well- all humans for example ( be it a holy war, or small cluster of monks(cool fight club idea) idk

These event modes could even be centered around as main RP plots mixed in, and you play as a lesser member of whatever factional warfare is at play ( you are some low ranked nameless pali amongst the crusader division )

I'm really here now thinking seasonal pk port event modes now, and I'm just spitballing as I write this -- would be BONKERS fun --

 and if RP is a concern, add a journal mode and most of it is set- right?
