Hometown blues

So I was wondering if any of you share my opinion on home towns. In real life people move, some people with a regularity that denies reason. Yet, in Aabahran it is rare for someone to change hometowns. This is largely due to the extreme cost of moving. I believe we should reconsider the over all expense and perhaps change it in the following ways;

If you are of a race with a racial home town and seek to move closer to your kin then it should be less expensive. Perhaps a cost of 400-500k in gold.

If you live in the town where your people come from and seek to move into one of the larger cities space will be more limited. Perhaps a cost of 800k to 1mil in gold.

Lastly, and this being the bigger change. If you are of an allignment that matches the hometown you seek, regardless whether or not they are your people or not, you may choose to move in as a minority. Perhaps a cost of 2-2.5mil in gold. Example, an evil seeks to move in with the drow, a paladin seeks to move to the elven kingdom. The cost reflects the extreme taxes placed on the individual by zenophobic societies.

I know there must be a reason for the existing extreme expense of moving, such as syndicates using gold they have obtained to move regularly and keep other characters from knowing where they live. But in my opinion the extreme cost of moving stifles role play, even if only a little. What do you think?

I really don't know why moving hometowns should be that expensive at all. There is some PK benefit to it, but it's not that much.

And no one I can think of except 1 or 2 people is gonna start changing hometowns every week. Make it like 1mil gold across the board.

In truth it brings up a whole other argument about FL's economy...or lack thereof. Gold in this game is an absolute joke and I have no idea where to even start fixing it. I can farm 1 million gold in less than hour. So what does a 20k scroll for -80ac really bother me for?

BINGO!!!

Hometown change cost is OVERPRICED!!!

Now, how do you make 1 mil in 1 hour?

Make a loop around the map.

Black dragon (take his stash)

Jhaerek (to sell titanium bracers for 15K)

Thalos (plates for Pelz)

Hamlet (kill shopkeepers)

Temor (deep pockets)

Just a few ways to make some dough

Too bad Pelz has so little gold

He's good for like 30K if you can catch him before anyone else does. There are other places to sell the plates too...but that isn't too widely known, so I won't say

Bastard

You know, elves can't touch the Plates...

But solid advice. Thanks.

c loc gold

Some store keepers have upwards of 100K on them and are not frequented often.

Also once you get to a certain point, shop keepers arent that hard to kill.
