This is totally cosmetic and perhaps superficial, but kinda worth commenting on. And before all of you haters start saying "This doesn't need to be done!!" I know it doesn't...I'm just posting this for thoughts from other DK players or anyone with other ideas.
BUT...DK's seem pretty much "complete" by 30, with the exception of charm person and malform. 20 levels...and all you're looking at at 2 things, only ONE of which you will need to train, and actually it'll almost master itself? Seems really, really strange and different than any other class that comes to mind.
I'd suggest moving around some of their spells or skills to make them have some progression and even arguably tone/balance them a little at 30.
Veil @ 15 is super rough. You can expect new players to be around the 15-30'ish levels and veil will totally screw them if the DK is smart and/or if the DK catches them in an area the player isn't very comfortable with. Perhaps this could be moved to 40?
Plague and Poison on a high melee output class with MANY weapon choices at rank 30 is also a wee bit much arguably. Perhaps move one of these to ~lvl35
Just thoughts, not saying the class is broken or stupid or this is a major concern. Just something I noticed and questioned as I was ranking/training Xyliana. I got to 30 and I was like, hrmmm wonder what I have to train later...oh, nothing?
Yeah, i wish for some alternative for the last two.
A guy like me needs a very large playerbase full of newbies to get malforms to lvl2.
I wants hellstream,PIT FIEND!!!!11!!!, and acid blast as an alternative.
okok, i love DK's just like they are, but some pathlike stuff would be great.
Hehe :-) I love(d) the class and all their abilities. I think malform could use some tweaking, but that's another discussion.
What about veil, do you think it is too uber for newbie PK levels?
Break down a 30DK and what do you have?
You get literally a warrior who doesn't get staff. BUT...they get plague, poison, fireball, protection, veil, summon, cleave, curse, bash, trip, cure light....
Don't think that's worth balancing a little?
Luckily most DK are soooo eager to get their malforms.
Maybe the lvl30 veil could be added a movement drain, or poisoning.
OR BOTH.
Turn it up to lvl 30 and improove it.
Thinking of it,... maybe turn to lvl 31 rather (giggles evilly where nobody sees him)
All those, soon to be ultrasuperioradvanced beeings, that are parked at lvl 30 wont get it.
Definitely wouldn't think adding anything to veil would be appropriate. DKs have probably more than 80% the complete melee offensive power of a warrior (excluding staff) with some other GREAT tools.

I think this particular class needs bank balance transfer costs raising because the current level of 10% is hardly denting it. Then I'd raise the grapnel gun to 45 (it IS almost as effective as druid gate) but then as a trade off, drop batarang and batclaw to somewhere between 31-38 for like you say, a more even progression.

But they can be beaten. Depending on skill of player.
A Paladin will match them very well.
Thieves can trash them easy.
Giant Warriors can also have advantages due to Bash Lag.
Mages on other hands are shifted.
Silence/Energy drain cannot be covered at that rank. Not enough saves.
And a DK with Fireball has the same power that a Invocker has, but with more HP and defences and meele offence.
The argument that they can be beaten is moot....anyone can be beaten at 30 depending on the skill of the player. This game is based on skill. Player A with greater skill with beast Player B 95% of the time no matter what if Player A has a big enough skill advantage.
Hmm, and a kind of solution would be moving up some skills?

Veil and Fireball are fine.
If you wish to send something up, it's silence. Completely tools mages.
That and Iceball. Fireball can be dealt with. Iceball is a pain even with AFF saves.

I actually think that moving malform down a bit would be a good thing, i know the reasons it was changed, but i think it has taken so much away from the class that was always the recommended class for a new pkers.
Bring Malform down to 35 - but have it capped so that people can only get there malforms up a small amount until 40, and can't get their malforms up to a decent level till 45, with level10 malform being available at lvl 50. Make it so that a dark knights weapon is part of their character development as they level, rather than just something vets start on once they put together their god suit and get their awesome weapon to malform.

In my experience, the weakest class at 30 is a bmg, strongest is shaman.
They put blades at 31 just to make me not sleep at night, I swear.
