STORM 'STORM GIANT
General
STORM GIANT History: Long have the storm giants of Aabahran been defenders of the weak and persecutors of the wicked. Ever since they first left Waterfall and ventured forth into the realm they have been staples of goodness and righteousness. The first storm giants settled in Waterfall, south of the Western Eridani. As their population grew, many of these giants made their way into the lands and found themselves welcomed in the cities of Val Miran and Maelbrim. As the most intelligent giants they not only became contributing members of society, but also made names for themselves through their diplomacy and strength of arms. Storm giants are common sights not only as soldiers standing against the forces of evil, but as preachers and gentle healers as well. Their people are varied, while some are as devoted to lawfulness and order as the tides, others are as wild and chaotic as devastating storms and hurricanes. These giants often feel the call to fight in the name of goodness. They have been commonly seen as Knights of the Crown and members of the Tribunal, while their fighters have been Warmasters and their clerics and healers Savants. They place great value on both their honor, and the honor of their comrades. Some storm giants have even been called to join the Order of Crusades. Storm giants are known to be diligent workers. Their people have banded together to create a lucrative kelp farming industry in the Crystalmir Caverns. This operation has been run efficiently and orderly for generations, providing meaningful work for their people. Appearance: Storm giants are much taller than most of the races of the lands. Compared to the other giants they are slightly shorter on average than the stone giants, making them more relatable to the non-giant races. Their frames are massive and heavily muscled, perfectly suiting them for both battle and hard labor. Their skin tones often reflect the waters where they make their homes. While paler whites are present, they commonly have hues of ocean blues and sea foam greens, down to the incredibly dark colors of the depths. Their eyes are known to occasionally have a slight glow to them, the glint of light resembling sparks of lightning. Their hair is most often thick and pure white in color, however darker colors are also common. Hometown: Many storm giants make their home in Val Miran, the Bastion of the West. Storm giants can be seen as not only workers and merchants, but also as members of the Tribunal forces. There are other populations of storm giants that make their home in Maelbrim, walking alongside people of many different paths and creeds. Society: Many clans of storm giants have existed throughout history. Though their bloodlines trace back to Waterfall, the different clans of storm giants have been followers of the Light in a multitude of different ways. Even those that have left their ancestral home still hold their clan name in reverence and honor. Religion: Storm giants are some of the most pious of all the giants. Though commonly associated with the Faith of The One God, they are also known to follow the religions of Life, Knowledge, Chance, and Order. While atheistic storm giants are not unheard-of, they are much less common than some of the other giants. Relationships with Other Races: Storm giants have long had a reputation of being reliable and trustworthy workers, comrades, and friends. They are the most widely accepted of all of the giant races and benefit any area that they settle. Storm Giants are known to have a fierce rivalry and hatred of the fire giants, rarely ever working together and quick to raise arms against them. Physical Adaptations: The bodies of the storm giants have been honed by their environments. They have a natural affinity for traveling through the water and are able to do so without the assistance of a boat. While on or in water their spells and skills are enhanced. Their muscular structure gives their body resistance to physical attacks and uniquely a resistance to lightning. While they are the most intelligent of the giants, they are still weak to mental attacks. Their bodies have become allergic to the touch of wood, and they cannot bear to wear armors or carry weapons made from the material. Their natural size makes them adept at using two handed weapons, bashing and bodyslamming their foes, and enhancing their damage. Storm giants can be the following classes: Warrior, Berserker, Cleric, and Paladin.
