FIRE GIANT History: Where the fire giants of Aabahran go, devastation follows in their wake. Originating from The Volcano, they have since muscled their way into the rest of the lands, making a permanent impact with their innately evil ways. Fire giants are driven solely by their own self interests. Ever since the first giant struck down another to gain greater power, their motives have been attaining their goals no matter the cost. They constantly strive to grow their own power, be it by brute force or underhanded means. Rarely do they congregate in settlements together, those that do are lead by whoever is strongest, until another comes along to take that designation for themselves. Due to this, few established villages are made, and fewer ruling bodies live on. As the physically strongest race in the lands, the fire giants place great value on strength. Nearly every dispute is settled by feats of this strength. Though their power is often attributed to their strength, their clerics and shaman are feared equally. Their powers of the communing arts are greatly respected, and some have been known to rise as leaders even against their brutal fighting kin. Fire giants are feared combatants on the field of battle. Their raw strength is legendary, and their ferocity is feared. They are commonly sought out by others who wish to put their strength to use, however these giants will try to leverage their own desires along with their assistance. Though their kind are often associated with the fields of battle, fire giant blacksmiths can be some of the best in the lands. Their predisposition to flame allows them to run forges hotter than any other could attempt. Appearance: Fire giants are the tallest race in the lands. The average fire giant stands even taller than the other giant races. As they are the strongest race, they are also often broad and amazingly muscular. Their skin tones relate to the flames they are known for. From bright and vibrant reds, all the way down to the darkest black of coal. Some have reported seeing their eyes glow with flame when angered or intent. Their hair can be a myriad of different colors and textures. Styling their hair is seen as an important form of self-expression. Hometown: The fire giants make their homes wherever they wish. Though they are most commonly known to set down their roots in the port city of Miruvhor, some have also come to call Maelbrim their home. Those that stay in the cities often find themselves either amongst the guards, or working as smiths. Society: Society as it is known to most of the lands is nearly a foreign concept to the fire giants. They follow the rule of whoever is strongest and plot how to take that power for themselves. Fire giants do not place much value on bloodlines or family names. Young fire giants are known to change their last name to one of their own choosing. Religion: Fire giants commonly choose their religious beliefs based on those that fit with their chosen desires. Their violent tendencies often lead them to religions of Death and Chaos, however others may use the ways of Chance to their advantage. Those who do not feel any of the religions suit their needs sufficiently are not afraid to strike out into the land as atheists and agnostics. Relationships with Other Races: The other races are mostly seen as tools by the fire giants. If their ideals align they may work together, the rest barely even register. Many races of the lands seek out the fire giants, to gain power in the strength that fire giant allies bring. Fire giants hate none more than the storm giants of Aabahran. Without provocation many fire giants will attack any storm giant on sight. Physical Adaptations: The bodies of the fire giants have been tempered by the heat and flame for which they are known. Their bodies naturally resist flame. And they have become able to wield fire based attacks better than any other. Also due to their affinity for heat, the sting of the cold and ice greatly wounds them. The density of their muscle mass has hardened their hides, and they are able to resist physical attacks. As the least intelligent race in all of Aabahran, they are vulnerable to mental attacks. Their natural size makes them adept at using two handed weapons, enhancing their damage, and bashing and bodyslamming their foes which also sometimes inflicts fire damage. Fire Giants can be the following classes: Warrior, Cleric, Berserker, and Dark Knight
