I will be taking my first amateur MMA fight the 29th of this month. Wish me luck. I will need it, only one discipline and High school wrestling experience. Ill be fighting an established amateur fighter as well. Hopefully what I learned will pay off.

I will be recording it and putting it up of course. My only training is Krav Maga

and the ground game is what I got from wrestling in school, so I think if it goes to the ground I will be having some issues since all my ground defense is agains't getting pinned. Also it is not in Wisconsin it will be in Louisville Kentucky.

Yea, it will be caged inferno. Also, Did you read how short my legs actually are? I cannot even get my arm into a triangle, if I get any type of submission it will be a rear naked, and then only if I can keep scrambling on the ground. Given my size and reach Im definately going to try to keep it up.

You know, you can use one of your hands to hold the leg triangle just above the foot. It helps a lot.

Not that i ever seen a triangle in a Amator Vale tudo.

Most of what i have seen is stand up, and then takedowns with ground and pound by the guy mounted. The bottom guy does not fares well normaly.

If you want an advice, dont forget to hold your hands up in guard.

My friend at his first competition kept his at waste level all the time and just dodged insanely. Still after he won, he looked as if he loosed because of the bruises on his face.

I know this is basic, but.... all things go wrong in first fights.

Well I took the fight to see if I can pursue some type of hobby/career with it. I enjoy physically testing myself, espescially agains't others, I went to state competition twice in high school for wrestling. I have been in the boxing ring a few times, I know to keep chin tucked in and high hands. My only issue is my most comfortable way to fight is southpaw, with a low right hand. Which Im going to have to either A) Change it. or B) do not stop with right jabs.
