Chayesh
You all do realize that they put this game out with graphics and it's available from your local retailer for about $10 USD, right?
corpsestomp
Silly Chayesh, we play muds, aka free games.
Bl3h
And text is so much better than graphics.
Tom
Agreed. That and my top100 best ADOM characters of all time are saved in the ASCII version.
Guest emp_newb
ok, Tom has me severely beaten, I do not think I could compile a top20 list of ADOM characters. I think my best was a high elven priest, made it to 42 and managed to starve to death
Tom
I've gotten nowhere NEAR 42, I've just had the game installed for a long, long time. I think my highest is in the 20s, but I'll have to check.

Aulian
yeah! and i sometimes find a dark room, but have no torches, so have no idea whats in there.
Guest emp_newb
dark rooms are magically dark, or dark because of traps, your not supposed to know what is there
Guest emp_newb
My highest character was level 7 . Still can't find that Keethrax guy anywhere. At level 7 keethrax would eat your face and wear your skin for a cloak. Shoot for him around 10 unless your a mage that got a lucky tome to start. Also if you are a mage and get a spellbook of teleport to start, you can rob pretty much any store, just pick up what you want and teleport. Bl3h
Lol, well it doesn't matter if he'll eat my face, cause he'll never find me! (or I might never find him...)
Tom
Only do Keethrax if you're evil; otherwise: Dog -> Don't level past 6 -> Raider -> Carpenter That'll give you a good start gold/eqwise, and lots of positive Karma. This is just the way I play my Lawfuls.
Guest emp_newb
the easiest classes are High elven archers (use t to bring up bow targeting, t again to fire once you choose target) Troll fighter Orc beastfighter
The Lemming
the easiest classes are High elven archers (use t to bring up bow targeting, t again to fire once you choose target) Troll fighter Orc beastfighter Troll healer born in the month of the candle with the talent that makes you heal 20% faster. Once you hit level 6 your healing rate doubles. Damn, I have a hard time dying with that one. I just wish I knew what to do.
Aulian
Yeah, but Drakling have like the special ability of shooting acid, which just makes you hungry but it seriously owns mobs. I have a drakeling cleric that pwns pretty well. Might try a healer though, being able to heal appeals to me, although I found like 4 tomes with my cleric already. Bl3h
I just got one more question, how do I issue orders to my companions? I tried to check "?"+"K" and found something about it, but it doesn't make any sense. I have to type "\Co" or something, but it doesn't work. Tom
I'm a Dwarven Beastfighter man. I had one last night with 27 toughness, born under Candle, and already had Tough/Iron/Steel/Mithril skin. Would've been my best character ever, but I made the rookie mistake of standing on an obsidian altar and got sacrificed by a goblin chieftain.
