Jester
Fire Giant vs. Drow... Storm Giant vs. Elf... Which is more versatile...
Pieman
Storm Cleric blows elf out of the water IMO. Drow and Fire are two separate classes to me.
Deykari
Both play very differently, both have the capacity to do very well. Giants have a smaller mana base, and thus rely on their melee damage a lot more to take down opponents fast whilst their prayers supplement this. Elves and Drow have a lot more mana at their disposal, with typically a lower overall HP and lower melee output - there is generally more of a reliance on prayers. Aulian
The all play completely different... Even to the extent of what religion would be best for the DI they would get. (FOR obvious reasons.)
Deykari
Yep. It's like one of those goodie bags you get as a kid - even if you pick the same colour bag as the one you got last time, you might have a different toy... Worst anology ever, but whatever. Pali
DI makes a big difference... for instance, I'd say a storm combat cleric is better than an elf combat cleric, but an elf mystic cleric would probably be better than the storm.
Mmm Coffee
IMO, a giant cleric that isn't in Savant is a dead cleric
Pali
IMO' date=' a giant cleric that isn't in Savant is a dead cleric [/quote'] A giant cleric with a Vanguard or a Blood Guard can put out a ton of damage.
mya
You are forgeting human clerics. Humans with 1 prac from start can get quite powerfull. And halfling clerics are also very nice due to the AC and magic resistence.

I definitely disagree actually. A Mystic Stormie cleric would be awesome. Now guile or greed? I'll give those to elf.

I'll give those to elf. Whether you agree with my specific example or not, I take it you definitely agree that DI choice makes a big difference. L-A
And no one has even mentioned the combat DI...... IMHO if you're that way inclined with a cleric it'd give dicord a run for its money as something very, very powerful.... I think a duergar/dwarf cleric can set themselves for either melee or attrition totally depending on the equipment you go and get. YOu just have to be very clear on which style you are going to use because you won't be able to do both. L-A
Pali
I mentioned the combat DI. I found a storm combat cleric to be quite powerful.
archgold
but doesn't protect good and sanc basically nullify the combat dmg dealt?
Pali
but doesn't protect good and sanc basically nullify the combat dmg dealt? ...I honestly don't understand this question. In what situation do they nullify the damage? Prot good and sanc REDUCE incoming damage, they do not nullify it.
archgold
what i meant by nullify is basically cancel out the effects of the combat DI.....because if they lessen the impact coming from it then they render the combat DI virtually useless correct? perhaps I might be mistaken.... Pali
I think you're mistaken. Unless it's been changed since I had Vorran, the combat DI... well, it'd be just as useful whether someone's got prot or not.
