No one "forces" anyone to roll power combos. Some people just prefer to play power combos because they dislike a challenge. Furthermore' date=' since it is a game, people are going to play what they enjoy - even if that means that it is a "Power Combo"[/quote']

burn. LOL, i dunno maybe its just me but i think the only reason people roll ogre/elf/drow is because they are afraid to loose, i know i have been guilty of such in the past, when i would much rather play something else and succeed with it, but again this always goes back to player skill and if i was uber enough i could run around with a human thief and pwn every one.

Everyone knows you don't appear in a mushroom cloud and axe them too the face for picking gnome warrior, but i feel there is an unspoken rule that if you play a weaker combo you will be targeted.

Naw, people will always roll what makes them happy, I have played MANY non power combos. Human cleric, Human blm, Elf warrior, FG shaman. Basically I want to see what is fun.

On a side note, if you play a thief right, you can pwn anything with a fae thief.

good luck blackjacking unless you got a bunch of a certain sack or a certain potion lying around to make you bigger.

I am pretty well versed in items. Also, you do not really need them if you train, my first thief I learned to train got all the requirements to 100, then just ran around robbing the world blind.

word' date=' Illithid would make one hell of an invoker or shaman. meh, maybe too strong actually.[/quote']

Shaman, yes that would be quite fun.

I tried for illithid invoker before, didnt pan out.

I am sure I will make another illithid necro, I love the class/race...probably go syndicate with it.

Human cleric is actually a very viable combo, I wouldn't look down on it in the least...

Illithid invoker' date=' 75% in all weapons. Awesome charge in holdie items. Auto-squid parry. Huge mana, Leech, Squid shock. Yup, I want one too.[/quote']

you missed the most powerful ability, cone of force. follow a succesful "charged staff" dispel magic with cone of force then cook em while they twitch.

as i said before, cool, but most likely over powered, if they were allow to be invokers they would suffer the same fate as minotaurs and loose some of their abilities for the class. Namely cone of force.

I am glad you have declared this as so.

A necro is capable of that right now anyways. Everytime sleep lands a victim dies to a good necro. 15 possible (x3) heavy hits a round + bash + trip accented by a touch of acid, shattered bones...this all before the cone wears off.

In truth the invoker illithid would suffer the same weaknesses with the same perks really. Less, as the invoker cannot order a lvl 48-52 pet to rescue them or flee while the damage keeps going on their enemy. Man, makes me want to roll one right now. heh...upkeep though is a pain, it gets old having to powerword drstam in a cracked wooden shield. All you ever do is raise zombies even if your racking up kills.
