Raargant
Hey everybody, I felt I owed it to you to tell you that, due to the burdens of work, amongst other reasons, I have decided to resign from being part of the staff. I wish everybody here the best of luck in the game. Before I go, though, I wanted to make one last sermon, being the preachy person I am. Perhaps it is just me, but more and more I feel that for many of the current playerbase, playing the game has become more about satisfying the ego as opposed to satisfying ones imagination. Questions and issues of reading the code, perfect balance, PK 'fairness', etc. etc. etc., seem to me to be cropping up more and more, and while these are important issues in their own right, I feel that they have been exalted to such a high level that they have detracted from the most basic reason that we play a game that is in text; the ability to create, with such ease, stories and imaginary worlds, with people who are of like mind. If you are playing this game to satisfy your ego, if you are PK'ing to satisfy your ego, then this really isn't the place for you. I don't mean that in the sense that I'm pulling away the welcome mat; I'm saying that the place you should be satisfying your ego should be in real life, because I assure you, the rewards for spending hours working there are far greater than than the rewards of spending hours here. It took me a long time to realize that, myself. So this is my final request. When next you create a character, when next you log on, instead of thinking primarily of the best way to kill a certain player, or the strongest combination, or the safest combination from death, try thinking of this instead: "What story shall I write today?" And, just as importantly, "How can I enrichen this fantasy world which we all play together in, for my own benefit, as well as other players?" I wish you all the best (even Balinor), in life, and in game. Au revoir. Raargant.

Aulian
Hrmm im not happy.. You havent ever been my imm, our interaction at any level has been minimal (besides when you seem to summon me up to tell me how crap my druids were ) but I have to say you will definately be missed. Always enjoyed your RP and I cannot think of one instance where anyone has said a single bad thing about you. All the best for the real world man, and the welcome mat is always out for you -Aulian

Evangelion
Damnit. You have possibly been my favorite IMM for a long, long time. Namely because your RP is so consistent. This is not a derogatory comment directed at any other IMM, but you are just so top notch at the RP side of this game. Not to mention ****ing hilarious. I wish you well and the best in everything you do, and hope that someday you may find it within you to return. In the meantime... I still want to know who you are (or were, before you became an IMM). Tantangel
I had been wondering why I hadn't seen you on in a while except rare instances. Learning the whole ego thing was probably the first thing I learned after I left here the last time, PK is fun, but I've never felt that it was required to really impress others or Imms, but more so RP. After all it's just a game, and RL matters most, have fun in whatever you do next, and if you're in the neighborhood, stop in and say hi. One of my favorite Imms, but you'll probably be back as long as this place is still kicking.
Dobson
Allow me to make this statement then, for Raargant. Bro, You have by far, made the biggest impact on my mudding. Your drinking with the mountain made me step my RP up to the next game and ever since I have started writing again. You were the main stay in the Carnival (not the only one but main participant) and you made it happen. I can't thank you enough for all of the hard work you put in to this game but what you said isn't true. The work you put in to the game is real life, and makes real life changes. I am sure that more than one person has had their life changed for the better because of the example you put forth. I think we can all agree that regardless of who you played, play or will ever play, you have made an impact on all of us. The absolute best whishes from someone you probably don't like. P.S. If you ever get arrested, hit me with a PM and I will see what I can do. Lt. John Lochmann
Dobson
The sober Mountain Raargant, the ever drunk Battlerager of light, was walking nay, stumbling through the wilderness when he came upon a stream of ale. This was an amazing sight, even for the ageless eyes of the gods. Kneeling to drink from the stream, Raargant was assailed by hundreds of massive boulders being hurled down from the mountain top. As suddenly as they came, they stopped, followed by a booming voice that rolled over the mountain, "This drink is too strong even for you, Battlerager!". With those words the small stream swelled into a raging river that nearly knocked Raargant to the ground. The Battlerager roared in a fury that one would dare keep a god from his drink. He dispatched word to his Knights informing them of a temporary leadership while he dealt with the insubordinate mountain. The Battlerager then dove into the river or chilled beer, and began to breathe the beer into his body as if it were nothing more than air. His blood turned to beer, then became concentrated to the point where his heart no longer beat...yet still he drank. The mountain roared in laughter, swelling the river banks and flooding the valley with the brew, turning it into a massive lake. Daily the lake grew, swelled and toppled its way until it was miles wide. Steadily the Battlerager drank his fill, at first he counted the hours, then days, slowly months rolled into the year. It was at this time that the lake halted its growth, the mountain could not hold another drop. Slowly, the brew began to dwindle, falling inches every day. Feet dropped by the end of the winter when the brew was evenly chilled. The mountain grew nervous, shaking daily and hurling rocks into the lake in some feeble attempt to play dirty. Soon, drunken yells could be heard bubbling up through the lake, turning to stone as they reached the surface only to fall back down. The lake began to flow, returning once more to a swiftly moving river. The Battlerager posted himself at the mouth of the river, not allowing a drop to pass him. The river turned to a trickling scream, littered with debris and empty rum bottles. The mountain roared, shifting the entire mountainside, sending the stream into a single, massive tidal wave of beer. The Battlerager laughed, taking one last swig from a silver flask he had been sipping on between bottles and the beer. The wave crashed all around him as he inhaled every drop. The mountain cried, shrinking back what was left into the ground. Raargant realized what was happening and threw his head into the ground, withdrawing the liquid from the stone. The mountain toppled over, sending rocks cascading over the lands. But before they fell, the words, "Get help you drunken bastard" could be heard echoing throughout the lands... Tantangel
Here's a question aside from you being missed, but who will be taking over Knight now that you're gone? No note was ever sent out about anything, so I'm sure your followers of Knight and Hope are wondering what next since none will be able to get in/get promoted. Mmm Coffee
By far the most well-spoken (in the forums and in game w/ RP) and expressly visionary IMM. By that I mean you would take into consideration many of the balance issues, pk-powerhouse combo issues, cabal issues, etc that (as you said and are correct saying so) contribute to a downfall in immersive fantasy role playing, and you would comment on them, start your own thread, or flesh it out in-game. Too bad you couldn't be moved into a position that was responsible for overall game balance, I think you would do very well. Peace....
