Homebrewing

Does anyone here brew their own beer or wine?

I just started; I've got 5 gallons (about 19 liters for you non-americans) of irish red ale fermenting in my closet. It's about ready to go into the secondary carboy (fermenter). It'll be drinkable in about two weeks.

I was wondering if anyone else here homebrews, and if they do... if they've got any good recipes for me. I'm looking to make a thick, nasty stout. Something so thick and dark that it looks like fermented blood.

Anyone?

He lives waaaay out in the country in south-central wisconsin. Hes 89? JI think, and sylvia and himself are the two coolest old people you'll ever meet. They have an official cocktail hour.... at 1:30. If you want to kick it with them, show up before three because by 2:30 sylvia is wasted in her wheelchair and ed is talking so much **** its not even funny. If I ever live to be that old I hope im kickin it like them.

I make my own brew too, and oddly enough all my recipes are five gallons also!

My current favorite is my wonderful wonderful Honey Hefferfeisen. Deliscious and STRONG. I have to do my Bavarian heritage proud.

My Irish Red Ale just went into the secondary carboy last night, and I gave it a taste. It's pretty good, even though I tasted the muck at the bottom rather than the clear beer at the top. It tastes like...beer. Delicious beer.

I can't wait to have it finished.

Its called wart! Jeez like you never worked in a brewery or anything..

It's actually called wort, but the wort is all of the liquid before it starts fermenting. The stuff at the bottom is just muck. It's basically yeast and hops. It makes this really sick green sludge.

emp_newb' date=' i've come to the realization that you're a pathological liar. ;)[/quote']

hm.. he doesn't know how to spell hefeweizen and claims to brew it.

we demand pictures of your beer brewing gear with you holding up today's newspaper with "emp_newb" written on the front page in permanent marker.

That'll settle this.

I'm either going stout or I'm going to make a czech pilsner. The homebrew supply store in Austin (where I live) has a recipe for Staropramen... which is absolutely delicious; ask Deykari.

I know nothing about homebrewing.

What I do know, is that Staropramen is absolutely amazing. Thank you for you introducing me to it, because my beer chiller is constantly filled with bottles of it... and I've even found a bar in my town centre that sells it now.

Wow, so I am now a liar? What ever lol. Give me til tommorow to get my pic up yea? If it fails to come up then by all means call me a liar, and a harlot to all your ****** hearts content.

Ill even take a few pics of my "brewery" mugs, Each one has TMB engraved onto a small pewter plate, which means Ten Mile Brewery, Ill also put in a Growler from the stout that used to be brewed when a couple of us where involved in it, when it went down to just me I shortened how much was made, and what. And the kegorator. Any other requests for what will be in the pic?

Heh, I knew this thread was soon going to focus on a ****waving contest of who does and doesn't brew beer from their house. I find it funny however... come on guys, were talking about brewing beer here, even if he is lying who cares... trust me when I say that you shouldn't be overly concerned with it. That only leads to an abundance of stress, stress is not needed.

I just do not like having someone flat out call me out like that in front of a group of people who I have interacted with for like 4-5 years. So I get called out, Im gonna respond.
