Should America be in Iraq

Personally I think we have dug ourself into Iraq because it was a bit of a distraction from our failures to capture Osama. However, now threats of terrorism seem to become a guide to our lives,"What is the current threat level today?" I still find it hard to believe that we have a threat level, should it not be simply a threat is existent, or it is not? Our media is controlled by owners that decide what we hear and when we hear it in america, and only through the internet and other publications such as the bbc do we even scratch what is going on in the rest of the world. It seems to me like american society has isolated itself and decided that its war on terrorism is against anyone who opposes the ideals of those in control of our government. In fact, if those in power believe that someone is against anything that they say, they can label them a terrorist and have them arrested and detained for an interminable amount of time. This appalls me, while I do not want to see another 9/11, I think that people need to wake up and realize we are not cattle either.

There are intolerant people within every religion. Christianity doesn't exactly have a spotless record: The Crusades, the Inquisition, the Holocaust. You can't really generalize about all Christians from a few events, just as you can't generalize about all Muslims.

Sorry about my post Celerity if you felt shivers. My main point in throwing in that god awful post was that we can't really pack up our bags and leave Iraq. It just would not make sense. I vote for peace in this world too if there was an option. I just don't like people being so one-sided on a discussion and nobody arguing against it.
