Evangelion
As someone who has been banned, and at the time, didn't know what a proxy was, I can assure you, it took me very, very little time to figure out how to get around it. And there are other ways. I haven't revealed some quest information. I'm just telling you, when it comes to cyberspace, there is absolutely nothing you can do to keep someone who wants to get in, out.
Ex-D&Der
Still lose your chars tho. Also have to play in hiding, which isn't as much fun. Kinda makes you wonder though how many permbanned folks played surreptitiously. I always sorta figured some of them did.

Chayesh
It's an exercise in futility to which others here can surely attest. See...you find a proxy, thinking "I'm beating the Man, I'm the s**t" and you begin a new character, pumping in hours, getting cabaled, etc. Then I find you. I find your new IP. I recognize your gameplay. I trace your connection route. I whois your IP. I condeath your characters. I then laugh...a lot.

Warmongrel
Ughh, I miss the shout outs. That's the only thing I ever read on here, aside from the monthly polls. Other than that I just get on to remind myself to vote.

How long did we have the shout out section? One and a half year? Little more maybe, but I can live without it. We did live without it before
J.Twendrist
Personally, I liked it. It's been around as long as I have, if not longer.
Mindflayer
I've seen good come from this ban.. as of the shout-outs shutting down, more answers and help have been directed at new players. I'd rather see a 50-100 person who list then a shout out.
L-A
Actually, Chayesh, it's easier than that. There are hundreds of free proxy lists on the net. It is easy to get one, and connect to the internet via it, and you are once again home free with the MUD. All your IP are belong to us. Chayesh
Seriously. For every program or hack out there that can mask an IP, there's one that can strip it.
Guest emp_newb
and besides, don't you guys sometimes let that Behrens guy from way back do some work? Maybe he can be on anti-anti-forum ban duty or something, so he is not just dead weight

Mattamue
I hear that when you apply or are asked to be an immortal they hook you up to a polygraph. You're shown hundreds of pictures of feet and asked for each one, "Are these gay?" Some you're supposed to say yes to, some no, some are just in there to confuse you, but one pair - depending on how you answer it - determines if you're imm'ed or slain. That's the kicker too. Do you lie and say no or tell the truth and say yes? It's what separates the men from the boys. I break out in cold sweats at night thinking about it.
