haha, nice.

course didnt we beat sweden out of the qualifying round to the '98 world cup as well?

No, that would be another team, as USA would never face a Eurpean country in qualifying for the world cup. And it was WE who beat YOUR sorry asses today, if you missed that. ;)

no, I didnt misread it actually am glad sweden won. I enjoy a good game...never care who wins really.

Am very very dissapointed with the current US team.

and maybe I am thinking of a different tournament/cup, oh well

edit: oh no! I was right, not qualifier though. but on 1-24-1998 US beat Sweden 1-0 in Orlando Florida. Of course thats the last decent US team fielded since..imho

I concur...Soccer might be fun to watch if there is no better sport on at the time, and if FL is down, and if there are no girls to hang out with, or money to make working, or sleeping to get done...Yep I'd watch soccer if no other sport existed, was unemployed, single, and insomniac, and didnt know FL existed.

edit:Actually...I dont dislike soccer at all, I respect the game, the skilled players, and love soccer highlite reels. It just happens to be my least favourite sport.

Lets see Sweeden put together a football(USA football) team and beat anyone of our 32 NFL teams in a exibition match. I played soccer for a long time, and besides all the running around I find it to be the most boring wimpiest sport in the world. I however would like to see Europe(its countries) and other countries become involved in the NFL. Maybe even be thrown into the schedule of the NFL.

Ice hockey has far less contact then american football does, I've played Ice hockey I know. However I wasn't trying to play any card, The game was an exibition game, which means nothing.... Thus is why I said for Sweeden or any other country to get up a Pro Football(american football) team and play one of our 32. World's strongest man competitions are cool if you like lifting weights and shrinking the male area which most of us would not like shrinking.;)

Less contact? People literally toss their gloves off and beat each other's faces in.

And rugby, thrice the physical contact as American football. A good medic should be able to stitch up a fella then have him back in the game in fifteen seconds. Rugby is bloody dangerous, dude. It's like football, but with giant angry Europeans and no pads. Way more dangerous and physically demanding than the fat afro-sumo competitions with pads that is American football.

Rugby is tough and perhaps tougher then football in the sense there are no pads. However they do not hit you with the shoulder to your head in rugby like american football does.

I will make one argument for hockey compared to football, when I was playing both, coaches told me to try and KILL the person when I made contact with them in football. In hockey contact was to be avoided at all costs because it slows you down. Fighting occurs in hockey however it is not even done every game now. Even with it... it still doesn't make it more gut pounding then football. There are no 300+ pound lineman doing dive bombs on your body in hockey. In hockey you dont play with broken wrists,hand,finger(s),ribs... I could go on and on with the injuries and playing with them. Football>>>hockey, the masters of the gridiron will always get my nod for toughness.

It's called American football in the rest of the world (you know, where "soccer" is football), for a reason. You are the only ones who play it, because you're the only ones who need pillows to play rugby. So, well, there more or less ARE no Am footie players in Sweden.

Though I think we actually had a kicker (whatever those do :P) in NFL once upon a time... And my little brothers former teacher plays it. :P

My philadelphia eagles picked up a former Australian rugby player to be a punter in training camp, he said that some of the hits hes felt in American football are much worse then in rugby. Rugby is not like football without pads, football is much more technical, much more like a chess game with human pieces.

Despite what you think There is NFL Europe in which American football is played...FYI. I guess your statements about only americans playing it isn't correct...
