I'm just curious what everyone thinks the proper RP should be for a giant? Should they speak like a well educated elf or drow? Should their speach be broken like a drunken dwarf at Oktober Fest? I'm getting into a giant char and just curious. I mean he is intelligent enough to cast spells and the like. So should he be able to hold a conversation and not have the attention span of a three year old on crack? I know on some RPing games giants are basically, "Oooo Duh...Mooo...booger. Good." Anyway - just looking for advice! Thanks!

- Matt.

I concur with Kyzarius. It's a good read for one and can give you more of an in depth look on how you have played or even play your characters. Myself, no matter how stupid or unwise a race is, they can eventually learn things well enough they could be intelligent. IE: Elf minimum age is 300 of course they'll know a lot compared to say a Giant who's minimum age is 9. Even if you get to the point your Giant is in their 30's, they can be RPed to have learned a bit in their journeys to at least recognize various intelligence and become wise as to how things should work in life.

I know that there are stats and such that supposedly help define RP, but I ignor ethat. I think of what would be fun to play and try out, and RP that.

For example, I have wanted to RP an incredibly educated giant for some time. One who spends a decent amount of time with his nose in a book, and speaks quite affluently. As a result, however, he is a bit ostracized from his giant community, and this is what brings him out of his village and into Aabahran.

Anyhow, the point of that is you can do whatever you want. Make it fun for YOU, not what everyone thinks it should be.

reciting mage spells requires study of an arcane tongue to FL, and this is directly comparable to knowing somebody that spends his whole life studying Latin and ancient Greek. languages that are dead and unpracticeable outside of an academic setting. mastering this certainly takes more INT/WIS that saying a prayer to your god in your head in the same language that you already speak.

I think it would take more intelligence and wisdom to devote your life to a God and pray to him for power then to memorize a couple fghjdsjhjs mutterings that cast a few spells.:D

nah, because communing is about the catser expressing his will to his god in the form of prayer. You close your eyes momentarily or narrow them, envision the outcome and it occurs. Much simplier than conjuring some complicated arcane spell.

RP reasons aside' date=' I can only imagine the complete unbalanced nightmare that a DK with mastered bash, enhanced damage, and the highest strength in the game, wielding a malformed two-handed weapon in each hand while casting fireball would be.[/quote']

In most cases, it would be a waste of time for 'em to even cast fireball. Cleave and bash all the way!

Bashy bash bash!

har har.

Yeah but I wasn't being serious at all here I took what was said about why fire giants are allowed to be clerics and expanded on the idea.;)

Get it now?

Chayesh you so know you would want to roam around as a Fire giant Dk with a Warlock and two lvl 10 malforms...hell I would! heh.
