Unknown Criminal
Im not playing again until I get the call to fix psi's, its not fair or balanced to be able to imobilize someone 'without a saves check' then have your way with them for 5-6 hours while all spells drop, mal them up then lock them into a battle they cant flee from while taking '>>> ANNIHILATES <<<' every round. Its not FUN to have someone come along and just walk on your charactor who you care about and can do nothing about, its embarasing, and this psi thinks he is good because his SKILLS are BUGGED and HE KEEPS PKING. I dont mind dying to anyone who beats me in a fair game, but for someone with a bugged class to continue to pkill I mind. UC
f0xx
I second that...it is kinda annoying not to have ANY chance at all.
mya
Strange, i feel the same way about Vampires... Ever tried to use the same counter ? Also, arent Psi's D&d mages, which must memorize spells of a circle... All i can imagine is that you are Mental vulnerability race, fighting the masters of Mental. It's like old avians fighting a Shaman... It was a massacre!!! I personally see no unbalance with Psi's.
Iyorvin
Thanks. Psi's have been out for what, four years now? We have not had one single dominating psi in that time? When I went Psi with Wyslign I expected to be gimped. It was the general concensus that Psi were a gimped class. I took it for the RP. I'd be a lot stronger as an invoker, I love that class. Make an alteration psi, maybe then you can see the weakness of them. You think vamps are vulnerable at certain times, bah whatever. All of the pbase does the same cyclical crap. How does an unchanged class go from uber waste of time gimps to OMG BUGGED *** MOFO. You know much stronger this path was before being gimped? Sneak used the same tactic back when psi was first released. He was MUCH stronger. Viri toned all three paths, this one especially, sneak went awal and ended up deleted/denied what not. He didn't think they were fesiable anymore. So whatever. I went a route with this char, rp wise, that I thought would be gimped but have loads of fun with. I have put in 300 hours on this char already. The imms have deemed nothing a bug yet. I've wrote them regarding the skill set up, the balance issues, what could use changing, what needs changed etc. I'm not going to feel guilty for enjoying a character I put 300 hours into. Furthermore, I will never die vs an alteration psi. I don't care what combo cabal you roll up. I'll never die to you. Make one, try to kill me. I challenge you, or any of the other pbase to roll one up. You'll quickly see there are way too many easily accessable options that will nulify my spells, and for a PSI, that makes them utterly useless. *End Rant* Thanks for tearing me down completely, we all know I just make power combos, like the feared werebeast ranger, gnome ranger, human blm. Watch out, I think I feel a half elf warrior coming on, and I wouldn't want that to turn overpowered. Peace
f0xx
Against vampire you can flee, you can keep your sanctuary up, you can even beat him up sometimes...not to mention the vulnerabilities vampires have...against the psi, he just lands his opening spell and you are dead and there is ABSOLUTELY nothing you can do about it except outdamaging him....good luck with that tho. Evangelion
Ditto what Festy said. Just ignore this post, and keep playing man. Wyslign's an awesome char.
Unknown Criminal
Iyorvin, this is your idea of a balanced pk fight? How does an unchanged class go from uber waste of time gimps to OMG BUGGED *** MOFO.[end quote] I have been coding for 4 years, if I say something is a bug then it is. You put how many hours you put into the char? If its bugged... its bugged. Were they toned down before? Yes. Were they gimped somehow? Yes. Do some of thier skills/spells not work properly now? Yes. Do they need beefing in some areas? Yes. Do they need softening in some areas? Yes. Listen, im not gonna get any further into this, your gonna moan your face blue about them being fine because you know how easy it is to kill with them. It doesnt matter how many times you have died, anyone gets cought unprepared will get killed but still have a 'chance' at staying alive. Im only saying this because I care about the pbase and what this game is supposed to stand for, balanced PK with an enforced RP background. If psi's arent debugged and fitted into this then they arent ready to be here, and judging from even what you say yourself they 'need work'. Evangelion
You should step off your high horse, and learn that you're not the only one who knows the code for this game. From the sound of it, you've also never played a Psi, so you can talk about code all you want, but you really have no standing to comment on whether they're balanced or bugged or whatever. Evangelion
Oh, and by the way, I'm assuming I know what tactic you're talking about, and I watched Lysier escape from Wyslign when he used that tactic. I don't know whether Festy ever caught up to him again, but I know that he wasn't killed while I was watching the fight.
Zrothum
I've come close to killing him a few times. It's just new and until you fight a few of them and die a few times, you won't realize what you have to do to get around it. Anyhow, I agree, and obviously, so does Wyslign, that the class does have some issues. However, he is not unbeatable. Just like anything new with potential, it dominates for awhile, simply because it's so new, no one really knows what "super" powers they have, how to negate/get around them, and what overall tactics are required to take them down. -shrug-
