delfytheelfy
no chance to fury???? it takes 6 hellstreams unsanced to kill me...
Ex-D&Der
Well I hear fireball was toned down but last I tried firestorm plus fireball was pretty nasty against a feral. Don't know why an invoker would rely on hellstream against you.
myrek
hellstream is the tool for a hit and run battle.
Goomf
I remember fireballs doing hits on my feral ranger. If equipped decently, fireball/firestorm are nothing. Only guys that can lag you with a fire polearm/fire mace hurts.
WarriorCleric
no chance to fury???? it takes 6 hellstreams unsanced to kill me... If an invoker is just spamming hellstream on you in a straight up fight, he isn't an invoker, he is just some fool. By the by, I hate invokers. I hate it when I group with them, I hate it when I fight them, I hate it when my friends roll on up, I hate it when I see one in a cabal, I hate it when I see one doing well. I hate invokers. I love rangers, I just can't play them for crap. Always get beaten silly and run away with my tail between my legs. The problem is, invokers are just built to take out classes that use charmies as a function. And if a ranger isn't using his charmies, even if he is not a beastmaster, he isn't playing the class to it's fullest. WC

Ex-D&Der
If you can get good enough equipment to make fireballs do hits while still having a good hitroll, then yes, a feral will have the advantage over an invoker.

Ranger>Invoker by a wide margin, nowadays.
Mudder
Have you fought Inyanos lately? Cylandas is pretty nasty too. Though I have never taken a ranger past 35... Maybe that will be my next project.
Pali
Very, very easy. Ranger>Invoker by a wide margin, nowadays. You ask me, the change to fired weapons probably hurt invokers a good deal... stops firestorm from being the first hit for fights, stops invokers from being able to protect from sleep... Boy Kid Wonder
If you take the time to think about, which I have. Fired weapons isn't so great for the ranger when fighting an Invoker. When ranged, in combat its pretty good.

You think a ranger having the ability to hit the invoker two rooms away through his firestorm without the ranger and his pets being hit by it doesn't change the fight? Sleep arrow, wait a couple ticks, walk in, ambush. If you're lucky their sanc/flight/prot shield fell on the ticks they're asleep when they were expecting to be able to pull it back up instantly. Trust me, playing an invoker now, I'd have to fight rangers VERY differently than I did.
