Homemade tattoo

Yeah, getting home made tattoo's is not a great idea. For one, you're usually stuck with only giving it in places you can see/get to without screwing it up. Two, depending on the state/city you live, it could be bad to have tattoos up and down your arms or even just one on your arm somewhere that's visible while wearing a short sleeved shirt. Three, leave it to the professionals.

My brother from personal experience regretted his home made tattoos within a few months of getting them. However he has since gotten 3 professionally made tattoos to overpower his 3 unprofessional tattoos that he enjoys. One of them he needs smacked for, but otherwise I wouldn't jump the gun on doing that if I were you.

I've been drawing tattoo art for years.... I've just got to get used to a vibrating pencil. I'll tattoo a banana first. I was going to draw a japanese style tattoo, but i doubt I've got that kind of perserverence, I dont want to sit there stabbing myself repeatedly for 24 hours.

Oh, and it wont be visible on a short sleeved shirt. There'll be one on the arm, and one on the knee

Reasons to wait:

1. Tattoos are something that will stay with you for the rest of your life... Consider it for at least a year before going for it.

2. Home made tattoos can easily go wrong, or look bad. Get a pro to do it, it's worth it for something that is permanent.

3. You're dad will kill you!

4. You won't impress anybody by being too cheap or impatient.

note, i meant on my quadriceps, not literally the knee, I have wanted the tattoo since I was 10, it is my own design, and I have been revising and improving it for 5 1/2 years, I know 3 people who have tattoos b4 18 and their parents don't know ( one of them has 3 :o), and what dad dont know wont hurt him, and this isn't to impress anyone, I've wanted the same tattoo design for 5 years, I want it for me.

and yes, I am retarded, but, should I dislike it in 5-6 years, it'll be simple to get a coverup, it's single color, single needle design.

It always depends on the style and if you can make them work together. I could work on a design if you like, but I would center it based upon the coat of arms, in the top two thirds of the overall design, Then balance it out with a wolf wrapping around the bottom third with some type of design to surround it all and tie it together, depending again, on designs of both the wolf and coat of arms. I never much liked my coat of arms, but I like the meaning.

My advice is do not do it yourself. I know a couple artists and they all wish they had not done it to themselves. I would just keep at your Dad untill he allows you or go get one done without his permission then suffer the consequences later... afterall it isn't his body it is your body.

Aside from my personal opinion that tattoos are idiotic, doing it yourself is just downright asinine....

IF you decide to get a tattoo, it is something that will be there FOREVER. Thats like the one thing you want to get done professionally. In any case, the device you've built sounds wholy unreliable in any sort of way, shape or form.

just ran to the store and got spinbrush pro. works fine now, makes a consistent line, and the guitar string has been sterilized

dont mention the thing where it says not to use on anything living. my friend cameron has a tattoo on his bicep made by this device. it's fine. plus, i tattooed a banana, it works/

Instead of a tattoo why don't you get an ID code carved into your skin. A lot simpler' date=' much more effective, and same concept. I don't condone tattoos anywhere.[/quote'] also, that could be made a tattoo, albeit a sloppy one, if you rubbed ashes into a wound. you could also use ink made of charcoal and coconut milk, or of urine and soot, and u could tattoo yourself w/ a thorn. beleive it or not, this is the safest of all of my alternatives, other then "not doing it"

again, using a guitar string and toothbrush, and india ink (also, i could've done it w/ guitar string and auto razor, but toothbrush is easier.)

note - I know a lot about the various ways to tattoo oneself

To be honest if I ever wanted to get a tattoo it'd have to be a decently large one on my back. It'd suck that I couldn't see it, but it'd probably be of a Dragon encircling a fortress and have to be very detailed. Otherwise though a tattoo wouldn't be so nifty, and if I got a picture I'd never have to really look at it in a mirror since I have the picture. Professionally done is the only way to go though, you risk doing something really stupid if you do it yourself and it wont just be your dad who's pissed at you, you could end up in the hospital or worse.

But apparently you lack the common sense to utilize that knowledge in a mature and responsible fashion.

Yay for stupid teenagers thinking they are "rebels" and "cool".

look, i dont wanna be a rebel, and the tattoos would not be to make me "cool"

this is for me personally, I want a tattoo. also, how the hell could I use the knowledge of how to give tattoos in a responsible fashion? honestly....

also, i resent being called "a stupid teenager" part of life is doing stupid sh*t and learning to live with the consequences. If something horrible happens, oh well.

Dude...

You're talking about tattooing a ****ing banana on yourself...

You resent being called a stupid teenager because the truth ****ing hurts man. And you may not acknowledge it consciously, but the fact that your dad said you can't have a tattoo is probably a big reason, subconsciously if not consciously, why you're doing this.

Take a look at your posts.

A) You're talking about getting a tattoo (stupid in my opinion)

B) You're talking about doing it YOURSELF

C) You're talking about getting a tattoo of a BANANA that, 20 years down the road, is going to look like a flaccid penis

D) You're talking about administering said tattoo with a "tattooing device" (I use the term loosely) made from a pencil, a guitar string, and a ****ing toothbrush.

------------------------

Summary: Tattoos on 15 year olds don't look cool. They look like self-done pieces of crap that everyone is probably going to laugh at, and when your dad finds out he'll probably ****ing kill you. Also, you're 15. You say you've wanted a tattoo since you were 10... I just don't get this. You don't know what the hell you want, and I guarantee you that in a year or three, you will regret your decision to do this.

I strongly advise you to disassemble your little "device" and take a look at this from as much of an adult point-of-view that you can muster. There is no reason for you to get a tattoo now, especially if you're not trying to be cool or a rebel, or impress anyone. If you want it for personal reasons, it'll still be there in 3 years when it's legal for you to get one done professionally. If those personal reasons don't last, and you decide you don't want it anymore... then you didn't really want it to begin with.

The only things that can come from self-administering a tattoo now are:

1) Personal Injury

2) Trouble with your parents (which, if they're anything like mine, can result in #1)

3) Trouble with school - teachers aren't going to look highly on a 15 year old kid that mysteriously has acquired a tattoo

4) Regret
