Suggestions? I'm curious about the video card...
Zrothum
Hell. Yes. After mail-ins and taxes and all that crap, you'll have spent less than 2Gs
Chayesh
Nvidia 8600....way nice. A good resource...www.tomshardware.com if you aren't already aware of it. His "Best Video Card for the Money" article is published monthly, and at the end of it, he lists all the ATi and NVidia cards into tiers for comparison. That way, since for some lameass reason gpu manufacturers don't make their cards follow logical numerical order (i.e. the 6200 LE is not necessarily better than the 5800 GT), you can make some sense of the numbers and see if your card is really a tier higher like you think it is. BigMac
I think I'll go with the 8800, as the texture filter rate is 4x faster, and the texture fill rate is 3x faster. The core clock isn't too much faster, but with the price of 2x 8600s vs 1x 8800, I'll go with 1x 8800 now and worry about another video card later... since a lot of games (especially in Vista) have trouble with running SLI. Chayesh
I'm loving my 7600 GS. It's the exact same chipset that's in the 7600 GT but uses DDR2 instead of DDR3 memory. Oh...and costs about $100 less. That's core clock of 400mHz and an effective memory clock of 700 mHz stock from the dual RAMdacs (350 actual each).
