Krav Maga?

Some of you might have seen Human Weapon on the History Channel. If not, it's about two martial arts experts that travel the world, training and fighting with various other disciplines. Anything from wrestling to boxing to nimpo. They're in Israel right now, learning the basics of Krav Maga. What a brutal and effective style. Has anyone ever heard of it? Studied it?

I guess the IDF trains extensively in it and things like the gun disarms are actually practical in real world situations. And it is so very brutal. Somehow I'm reminded of a monk. ;)

Here's the last part of the episode that's on. http://youtube.com/watch?v=o3bjzpoWVMA

I took Krav Maga, and look at the place it was developed, its the israeli military discipline. Of course it has to be brutal and to the point. Gaza/west bank are CONSTANTLY fighting and skirmishing.

I trained for about 10 months while I were doing my military service. My drill sergeant told us "This is the best way ever to drive a handgranade into someone throat" :)

But as someone mentioned above here, its really brutal! You aim for the sensitive spots on the body more or less all the time, alot of bending limbs and such. But really fun to train, looks like a barbrawl in my eyes.
