Malchaeius
The world of fantasy has lost an excellent mind. I am praying for his family and friends.
Raargant
You saw the news as well? I read it before I went to sleep yesterday. Was praying it was a bad joke, checked the news, found it was legit. RIP.
H&R
I have yet to read out his epic (I'm on book 10). A great author he was. Did he ever finish?
Raargant
He was working on book 12, the final book in the series. From what I've read, he had been dictating down many of the plot lines and storylines which he had intended to write to an 'army of writers'. zionpsyfer
Prayers are with his family. He's had a lot of criticism for an overabundance of threads in the WOT series, but I wonder how much of that was pressure from his publisher to keep cranking them out. The first five books were excellent. Here's hoping that they can finish up the last book and we get to see Rand pwn the Forsaken.

Evangelion
Yeah. I went to a book signing, which I left band early to do. So I asked him to write me a note to excuse me from band, and he did. I think my band teacher framed it.

Evangelion
Hah. Balinor is actually a really obscure reference in that book - I actually first got the name from Terry Brooks' Sword of Shannara (another excellent fantasy series). I'll give you Tomas, though. I had just finished rereading the series, and it seemed appropriate for the type of character that I wanted Tomas to be.
