more neutral qclass/race

can we please open up the options for neutrals in the game? I kinda hate the fact that all the cool classes are only good or only evil.

I concur!

come to think of it...I always saw monks as being disciplined...so, in what way should that prevent them from being neutral? not exactly what you are talking about, I know, but since we are talking about neutral possibilities...it came to mind...

The cool combos ARE good or evil. Deal with it

I'd actually like to hear if you had any ideas, Sandbox.

Quest Race : Scarecrow

Give detailed specs, Mya.

qrace: plasma beast

DETAILS! Not just names!

i'll throw some stuff your way about classes and how they would operate some of the veterans would probably have to edit my skills list im sure.

Perhaps some sort of wing riders. Giant Eagles or Rocs, A pseudo Paladin/Dark Knight class. The Mounts, and weapons useable from those mounts could improve with rank. Unlike Dark Knights and Paladins I would allow ranged attacks..... Just a thought.

More to come....

here are some of the classes i thought of and a brief description of how they would operate. I'm not sure if the imm's want skills just thrown out there with the potential to be a Qclass. These are just q-classes for now i dont have any races thought up so far...

Planeswalker - somewhere between a ranger and a psionicist as far as skills would go a few examples would be ethereal shift where they would shift planes instead of camoflauge or going invisible. Blur image- parts of their body shift into an etheral world and weapon swings aimed at that part of the body would pass through ( defense similar to dodge.) Planar weapons that can be created from materials from different plains, weapons might be able to act as multiple elements ( we'll see lol. just an idea, examples would be: shadowflame lance, frostfire dagger, staff of divine winds)

Inventor - Inventors would be a pet based class to an extent. They would create siege machines that can fire arrows or swing weapons, they would create devices that would blow open doorways, or small gadgets that can be flown around to spy or check areas. They would specialized in traps, explosives or gadgets. gadgets would be worn such as guns, goggles ( some could allow you to see invisible, some could see hidden, some could see camo.) and armors.

Rune Masters - Rune masters would pull their powers from set runes that they are bound to themselves. They would be able to use only one rune at any given time. They would be much like invokers in combat style. They would be able to hold the rune and "use" it to summon a golem of that element to fight along their side. The golems would mostly be for utility type spells simliar to dragons but stronger and with an hp attached to them, once a golem is destroyed the rune crumbles and have to be re-created.

Dragoon - Mounted combatants would be somewhere between a paladin and a warrior with a mild curative aspect. They would pull power from their steed that grows stronger as they gain in ranks. Their mounts would fight with them in combat, ideally the mounts would be dragons. Their mounts would be act similar in ways to goliath in the aspect that they are not attack-able. They would most likely have a choice of different mounts somewhere around rank 30 that would give them access to different types of abilities.

Buckaneer - i haven't really finished what this one would play out like, but it would be somewhere between a rogue and a bard tailored to not hiding in the shadows, instead using its crafty skills that would allow it to gain certain abilities based upon what class it is mimicing. Obviously it wouldn't be able to change class on a whim but it would be able to take certain aspects of certain classes and use those skills when it is mimicing them. (this one really needs work)

I like the planeswalker idea.. I will try to flesh this out more, and post some things.

Planeswalker.. nifty idea. I like it. I can fish up some ideas on spells, too.

Please do.

Spells:

control phase: by controlling the dimensions around them, a planewalker is able to force his body to momentarily phase out of existence when needed. (Protective shield (when someone bashes into them they go right through them) and pass door).

karmic backlash: +luck, depending on their current luck stat. This skill will max out luck.

strengthen mind: adds a resistance to mental for a short time. Can't be used with flesh.

strengthen flesh: adds a resistance to weapon for a short time. Can't be used with mind.

boiling blood: force someone's blood to boil by phasing only their blood into a hotter dimension/phase (-5 hitroll, +1 str to the person you cast it on)

resinous tar: pull tar from another dimension and splash it against your opponent. (drop dex or so by -5)

aura of strength/speed: +1 dex/+1 str and add haste/berserk, depending on which you choose (those +1's go over the current racial max) and only one can be chosen at any given time.

arcane turmoil: faerie fire like effect with moderate damage. Your magic makes whoever glow.

pain: tear an opponent's body parts apart through the dimensions. Has a chance to save, not save, etc. Around an >>> ANIHILATE <<< without sanc and causes -7 to hitroll, and -7 to damroll when it lands. Can't stack, can only cast once through the duration.

parched: make someone thirsty and use the noun 'thirst' in the damage of the spell. Can stack and make someone very very thirsty.

phase blast: chance to lag opponent for a round and a half, lagging you 2 rounds. Decent damage spell, magical.

dimensional leap: spell that you cast before combat. If you're hurt below a certain percentage of your hp, you'll leap into another dimension (teleport) and cast lightning bolt on your opponent just before you teleport.

Skills:

precognition: you have a chance to foresee in another dimension what your opponent will do, and effectively dodge it. You can dodge spells, or even weapons.

You could throw some of the old spells from AR on there... I forget the name of the class, its the one that turned into battlemages. The class had spells like phantasmal dragon... anyone remember this because my memory is a bit shot.

Illusionist?

yea, them

If you make a qrace, it should be geared for mages. Undead are good for rogues and demons/avatars are best for melees. Neutrals only have druids for communers, so mages would be the best fit.

If you make a qclass, it should be some type of communer. This is my reasoning:
