killalou
You know this always bugged me. I understand why quest info isnt allowed OOC. But IG why not? Especially since you can easily have someone rp to "help you" and they are many quest which you cant do alone, like gear. IMHO it should be the person you ask decision whether they want to help you or not. What do you guys think?
Implementor Anume Posted October 8, 2007 Implementor Report Share Posted October 8, 2007 They may give you hints to point you in the right direction, they may NOT tell you the solution directly. Where would be the fun in that.
Pali
Heh, I remember being on one of the first groups that ever went through Gear... DAMN that took forever to figure out.
Pieman
Well there are some areas that are kind of gray. I have taken tons of chars with me just on field trips to the shrines when I have them already grouped, and yes I've made groups just to go. I never tell them exactly what we're doing but they figure it out I reckon. I mean, stuff like that no one would ever know without a hand, that's how I learned. Aulian
I actually found all the shrines alone... It only took me like 10 hours realise you needed three of the religion set to actually get the quest... Haha. Anyway - I agree with Eshaine 100%. You should be put on the path but the quest is ultimately yours. It comes to the point where you have to ask your self: Am I here to interact and find enjoyment in the environment created? (and believe me quest programming is a pain in the ***) Or am I a power gamer that doesnt give a **** about room descs, quests, ect. I just want to get stronger and stronger until I am king of the lands.
L-A
I mean' date=' stuff like that no one would ever know without a hand, that's how I learned.[/quote'] Nope - searched the realms room by room until I found them at the start of 2.0. Found all but one on my first pass L-A
Aulian
Yup. What you think the immortals gave the answer to us? Seek and you shall find. Whine and you will get shat on by us who put the effort in.
CruelEdict
I remember playtesting it and it was so ridiculously hard and it was an understrength group. I was there to defuse a certain thing and that went awry. That set the mood, for sure. Were you in that group, Pali? I swear I recall you, but I am not sure. Pali
Gear is fun when you do it with TWO people.... you get a lot more of the shinies. It's even more fun when, at the end, you start killing off your group for the shinies that they grabbed that you wanted.
Kinicky
They allowed a char named Namaste back then? Were name rules different?
Mudder
Name rules are the same. Though, you can only edit out names that you know are inappropriate. I don't know what Namaste is from myself. *shrug* Hennessy got to like level 30 before his name was changed, lol.
Evangelion
Namaste = Hindu greeting.
Kinicky
It's not just a Hindu greeting. Namaste means, "The god within me recognizes the god within you." It actually ties into a number of different world views, and goes beyond being solely connected to faith systems.

Tantangel
I've done Gear twice in a group of two. Once with an Ogre Warrior Praetorian and I was Egui which turned out to be way easier than I thought, then again with Chomba and Ohrian where I lost all my pets just getting in so it was just us two. Not all that hard doing it with two people as long as one of them can cure critical at the very least.
