f0xx
I have a few questions concerning custom races. I've read the help files concirning qrace, but I still asnwer my questions, so I will ask them here: 1. If one is approved for a custom race, does he get any other bonus than the custom race shown in the "who" list? Bonuses which his normal race do not have? 2. When applying for one, do you need to have written your description and approved already, or you should send it with the application? That area seems a bit grey. 3. Does one have to wait just as long as for a normal qrace/qclass or it happens faster? Thank you.
Aulian
Now you are asking about two different things. Are we talking about Qraces/classes like undeads, demons and vampires... Or are we talking about Custom races like the change in the who list. For the latter You should have your description written by rank one. You should also be FULLY roleplaying your chosen race however you wish to depict it. Sending your application to the immortals immediately is a must. For the wait: If you cant the right level imm on - it can be instantaneous I believe. Just depends who is on in the time. but no. There is no long required waiting time such as the other qclasses and races. As for bonuses: The old maxim "Nothing is impossible" stands I suppose. However any bonus you do gain - expect to be gimped. This is not a way to *boost* your abilities to pk or escape pk. From the past I would say 99.9% (0.01% chance for error so im saving face) do not get bonuses. Or would even consider getting bonuses. As before mentioned - its for RP death of your character. Not to buff you up in some way.
Evangelion
The only character I've ever seen restrung that had a bonus was Kiyana, and I could be wrong about that. She was some winged elf creature, and I believe after a while she was granted flight. Again, I could be wrong. But in most, if not all cases, receiving a race restring grants you no bonus to your stats, only to your RP.
Questioner
Right, I remember there was Senios, an avian battlemage? He had it restrung and got telepathy speech to fit his rp.
Evangelion
Telepathy can actually be a detriment, not a bonus.
Questioner
True, but that is his rp, something he asked for, got in return for his efforts to "spice up" the character. How many avians can get telepathy?
Kinicky
Didn't Unst also get telepathy for a while?
Tantangel
When you apply for a restring quest race it'll basically be harder for you to get a bonus than it would to just get the restring itself. I suppose you could make it so that you were slightly less strong compared to a normal Elf but at the same time you became faster so you'd have -1 str and +1 dex compared to your average Elf if you were wishing to become some other kind of Elf or various race. In my experience you just have to have a well written description and application to actually get it, and from there it's about a day or two wait a lot of the time before you get it (mostly within a day of you sending the app). Just make sure it makes sense for the race you're playing to actually be able to be considered that other race.
