'tarako
'psh. I would have voted for Nader if I could have voted. Maybe I should start following politics so I can vote in the next election.
English lad
I would disagree that GWB is funny - He would be funny if he was that guy from down the Pub, or the bloke from Work. When the same guy is the Leader of the most powerful Nation in the world, it stops being funny and starts being scary.

Zrothum
I think most of the Bush support was more like...give the guy a chance to finish what he started....have faith and hopefully it will work out. Now that bombed....so no ones likes him anymore lol
Ex-D&Der
I think it was more due to war fever, so criticism of him was seen as cowardly or disloyal. People are getting tired of the war, so now his shortcomings are just accepted for what they are.
Dizz
I have never liked him. I voted republican the first time... for McCain. As of now, I'm even sorry for that vote. He's shown me how crooked he is under a Bush.
Chayesh
Voted for him twice, still glad I did. His morals don't shift. He's weathered more trials and tests than many presidents have had to deal with and yet he still keeps it together. Is he a great public speaker? Hell no...he's mediocre at best. Another unfortunate aspect of being from the south is the accent. The southern dialect often leads people to suspect the speaker of being of low intelligence when in fact they are not. They don't hand out MBA's from Harvard just for paying the tuition after all. Do I agree with every decision the President has made? No, of course not. Do I believe that he's doing a better job than Gore or Kerry would have? Absolutely. Do I think he was the right guy in the right place for the trials our country's gone through in the last 7 years? Absolutely. Is that enough support for the thread or do we need more? I'm just wondering because I have a shelf full.

Evangelion
You know, it's funny. I used to think that I would register Republican, because I thought my views were conservative. This is back when I called myself Catholic, mind. Over time, namely during George Bush's reign, such as it were, I have developed increasingly liberal views, and have become increasingly Atheistic. On 9/11, I was in the 7th grade. I thought politics were stupid, but I was still emotionally affected by what happened, and supported the notion of fighting those that had so egregiously assaulted our country. Hell, I organized a bake sale at a school dance, and cried when they played "Proud to be an American" (still do). Now I'm a registered Democrat who, except for her not-strong-enough stance on Gay Marriage, supports Hillary Clinton, and am a firm believer in "Support the troops, not the war." Oh, and I'm a Political Science major. Funny how things work out.
Pali
George Bush has done more for liberalism in the last decade than liberals have, and the Religious Right has done more to turn people away from Jesus than Richard Dawkins has. I find it funny.
Aulian
As an outsider to America. I have to say that the rest of the world holds Bush in poor regard. Im sure he is a good man and that his heart is in completely the right place but from what we are shown in the media it is my only option to believe he is a complete moron. It may be his regiem (sp? god knows) or the people behind him but the man does not come off as the brightest: 1. Telling the Queen of england at a white tie dinner that "its her turn to speak." is quite possibly one of the most ridiculous things Ive ever heard (does the man think before he opens his mouth some times - possibly the biggest thing that has earned him his 'stupid' image are some of the things he says... You know what I mean.) 2. The circumspect circumstance in which this war on terror/for oil has taken place. There are alot of different views and again Im dealing with international media but from what I can tell the American government did not see this as only an option for revenge. But also for profit/area stability in control of the oil supply.. We all know that the American War engine makes money (as well as wasting it too) so I suppose one must really wonder why they decided to invade and continue to invade when no weapons of mass destruction are found. It makes you wonder. If i am completely misinformed - sorry, but I do try and keep abreast of things from a few sources of media. <3 Aulian Edit: Please remember that these are just my own thoughts, I am not staunch on the topic either way. Just interested musings shall we say?
Questioner
When your young and below the age of fifty, most people are liberals. When your above that age and have gotten some experience and maturity, you become conservative. I will throw in my support for Mr. P. And let me throw out there that many of the posts I have read are based on pure assumptions, opinions, and the ticking of degenerating brains.
