Seriously we have a serious issue with this.

Whats the problem?

Do we just not give a **** or what?

Dont we want to see this mud rise up and get flooded with newbs, so that we can all have level 10 malforms?

There are easily 50 active members.

Each one can vote twice a day. Once when you get up and once when you go to bed. Not that hard.

Thats already 100 votes a DAY.

Alright so not all of us can be ****ed to vote. Fine. Say there are 20 people who actually want to vote.

Thats 40 votes a day.

It being the 16th... We should already have over 500 votes. Yes?

Currently we have 255 votes. I vote four times a day (uni internet too)

Thats 16x4= 64 votes

Thats more then 20% of the total votes we have..

I ask you again. What the **** is your problem?

Out of curiosity, how often can you vote? I thought it only read votes from a single IP address once per voting period?

It seems that when I vote more than once, the # of votes doesn't change.

It seems we go through periods where everybody votes, and we're high up there. In the top ten somtimes. But then we slack off and drop down to 16th-18th.

I try to vote as much as I can, but sometimes I just can't do it twice a day, I usually try to vote from uni or work as well.

I forget the reason why, but I think we're actually not allowed to do this.

Or we've just always felt that forcing players to support the game was wrong. Not sure. Either way, the decision was made a long time ago that this won't happen.

The rules state that you cannot force the players to vote. Here's the quote:

Can I offer rewards for voting?

You CANNOT offer incentives or rewards to players for voting. That means you cannot give players items, experience, or anything else in return for votes. You cannot display different messages based on whether someone voted or not, or reward a player for voting by not showing messages. You cannot have a system that ‘nags’ a player about voting in response to whether they’ve voted or not unless participation in the system is totally voluntary with no tangible positive or negative effects for a player choosing to use or not use such a system. Such a system must also allow a player to easily opt out of it at any time, also with no positive or negative effect, and it must be off by default.

'wait. I seem to recall that either logging into telnet or the forums had it pop up that you could vote or something like that...

Viri coded it into the game to give people the option of voting or not and you didn't have to vote to play, just wait slightly longer to get back into the game to play if you didn't. Problem I had with that was the fact that if I was disconnected from the game I couldn't ever get back into the damned thing right away despite having voted already and often found myself at my pit because it took too damned long to get back to the game. So pissed I was with that system though and glad it was removed because there's no way I could tolerate having that happen all the time every time especially when I'm constantly disconnecting anymore because of a ****ty connection.
