crackwilly21
What things are most looked at for Demon wannabes? Skills/spells mastered, pk ratio, rp, quests, clan quests, deaths? Anyone have any suggestions that might increase my chances were I to apply for a demon?
Balinor
Put some thought and effort into your application. Don't mass PK. Some PK is fine, but once you hit 10-15 kills (total), stop and RP. Also, every PK should be accompanied by RP. Depending on your class, master some skills/spells. Weapons and defenses are good ones, along with staple spells, like the curatives, sanc, etc. RP at every oppurtunity. MAKE oppurtunities to RP. RP, RP, RP, RP, RP. crackwilly21
I have maybe 7pks, I RP constantly, have several quests/clan quests and RP EVERY chance I get. My masteries are not really up to par, but I wasn't really concerned with those, do they matter as much as the others? edit:If this shouldn't be here, please remove it, I don't want any adverse consequences for this. Tantangel
I'd at least have weapons and defenses done.
Goomf
Do something unique, especially in your app. Don't do the staple "Hi my name is Bo....KILL ALL HUMANS! KILL ALL HUMANS!...b" The imms look at pk as an indicator that you know your stuff and you won't be dying alot. Demons are a bunch of souls interwoven into a single psyche...and no one wants a weak psyche. Make sure you rp well. DO NOT MAKE OPPORTUNITIES TO RP! Don't force your rp, just rp as you think your character would act (ie naturally). Also, pk as much as you want, depending on your character. Of course if your character is a crazed lunatic (staple rp) who wants to go kill everyone (staple rp) you probably won't get in. Your pks should be as creative as your rp so that they get noticed. You don't want a bunch of pks against lowbies/newbies that aren't noticed because the imms will think you're padding your record. Don't die too many times. Oh, and don't listen to Balinor. He doesn't know what he's talking about But then again, I don't really know what I'm talking about either, since the imps have changed. I'm just giving advice based on my previous demons. Finaly advice: Once again, I reiterate, BE CREATIVE!
Dale
Don't go around being trashy though, you might catch one of my chars inthe process.
delfytheelfy
Dont pester about your app, I know that will get you DENIED so fast you demon wanna be head will spin.
Warpnow
Don't trash pk. Take on opponents that when you take down, people are going to be impressed with. Don't be a level 30 warrior bashlocking a level 25 cleric. Be the guy whooping up on the ogre warrior and fire zerks who are decked out. Impress people with your RP and your PK skills. There is no such thing as making room for RP because you should never stop Rping. Rp while you pk, while you hunt. While you train. Emote. Emote. Emote. Goomf
People are saying don't trash pk. There's a HUGE discrepancy between don't trash pk and RP PROPERLY.
Malchaeius
I look for.... Survivability - Be able to stay alive. Kill to Death ratio is important. PK ability - Do not trash PK, but have a couple of kills under your belt. Strength of Application - Do something different. Make me enjoy reading your application. Certain things have been done to death. I.E. "I have been possessed already by an evil being controlling me and I need you to free me", "My parents abused me.", etc. Strength of RP - Be able to hold your own in emotes, notes, conversations, etc. Character Buzz - It is always nice when other IMMs and players have nice things to say about your character. Character History - Show me that you have fleshed your character out. These are most of the things I look at. Usually, one might outweigh another in my decision. Maybe writing is not your thing, but you have an excellent buzz around your character, and your PK skills are excellent, while your RP is average. You may still get demoned. Though I tend to go after the total package.

Warpnow
People are saying don't trash pk. There's a HUGE discrepancy between don't trash pk and RP PROPERLY. Yes, we are saying don't Trash Pk. Same thing Malch said, so I think we said the right thing.
Goomf
Well, I posted before Malch, so I wasn't certain what his prerequisites are. In any case, I stand by what I said. Underlying the phrase "RP PROPERLY" is "don't trash pk". Don't trash pk does not neccessarily mean RP properly.
Magick
And remember. If you submitted your app(s) at the minimum possible time and have been going at it for closing on xxxx hours without being denied, you've still got a chance. Keep at it. Perhaps Malch's waiting on something(s) in particular. Just don't give up if you have no response. Or denied for that matter. It might be just me, but even a failed app gives massive room for an Rp angle. Why delete if you didn't get what you want? These are most of the things I look at. crackwilly21
I have solid RP, solid PK (no trash). I'll work on my skills and I went with an app that I thought was a different angle than most...none of that killed my parents, or my parents were killed, or any of that crap, I went with something that I thought would be a breath of fresh air, so I hope it works out...if my app sucks I could always send in a few bucks *wink*
Pali
Any new take on something will get attention. Even if you say you killed your parents, if you come up with a new way that this happened, a new reason it happened, or even just do it with a lot of style, that can make a huge difference. Chayesh
Exactly. Like we want to read another "chopped them to bits" story or some other tripe about "slashing them to shreds". I mean, seriously, doesn't anyone julienne or dice any more? WTH?
Pali
Well, I was thinking I might make a demon wannabe who "minced" his parents... sound good, Chayesh?
Balinor
As far as qraces on a whole, but for the sake of discussion, demons in particular go: If we're not really into the whole killing at 30 thing, will winning duels/mercying foes suffice? If our character RPs a lot with characters, but not with IMMs, is that good or bad? Is it necessary to have an RP that involves killing/destruction/world domination? How many deaths is acceptable? Sneak
I can answer the last one - less than 8.
Dale
I mercied alot of people with Akhagren because I didn't want to be trash. And I tried to rp every pk, kinda went for the reapers apprentice thing and only killed people on the 'list'. Even had a cool emotes where my weapon told me to kill people I had kneeling. But still didn't cut it, I was going for undead though. And I can't really remember my rp with my demon cleric. Just when I got turned into a demon, which was really cool btw(thanks malc). Acerbity
Usually all demons applicants seem like trash to most people. You know what? Suck it up, and kill everyone you make kneel in front of you. Demons aren't honorable. They're backstabbing, dishonorable, lying bastards with an attitude. Ask Malchaeius.
