Ogre is really not a power combo for ranger (and most everything else) after the change to regen. Even after the changes I still see a lot of posts with people making references to ogre melees and evil clerics as power combos. Thats not to say that ogres they can't be strong, but anyone that does well with the combo could do a lot better with another choice (ie stone giant). You are giving up resistance to physical, gaining vuln to all magic, all for a couple hundred hp, and a tad higher regen. As for evil clerics people are still complaining about, there hasn't been a single one that has lasted/had even moderate influence rolled after the change.

What change to regen? Did I miss that note? What change to Clerics...? Did I miss that one too? I have been out of the loop, so fill me in.

Ogre regen got toned so that it isn't capable of the regular regen of 3-400 hp in one tick. You can still get a couple hundred just fine, which is far better than anything else still, but it's not quite as powerful as it used to be.

Minister's duration was extended (in terms of how many hours it lasts on you), but in exchange it now has to go through a saves check every tick, failure meaning it does nothing (possible I am wrong and it still blocks mana regen... don't remember).

Well, that sucks. Ogres have a hard enough time, from what I remember, that was what gave them the ability to handle non-melee. And I haven't played a Cleric ever, so that last change doesn't mean much to me. A saves check each time is interesting, I suppose, even if other maladys don't need to do this. Was it really THAT powerful?

ogre regen is almost non existant in comparison to what it was.

Minister got a big make over.

Roll a Syndicate. That way you can kill anyone. (Or be killed/captured 10x a day if you're a bit less than good in PK)

Go Drow Shammy, Undead Thief, or Undead/Avian ninja and collect them Nexus bounties.

Or have a bit less time to do eq runs.

Or decide you will defend your cabal and get WANTED all the time for it.

Or have a bit less luck vs two to three players at a time.
