Yeah, it can help by making your profile only able to be added by people who know you're email/last name. Mine I have my email and instead of my last name I used my middle name which no one but my family and like 3 of my friends know. If people want to add me, they can message me on there that way I know who they are, otherwise though I tend to keep it exclusive. haven't had a problem with spammers since I made it to where you needed an email addy/last name to add me though.

For some it is, for some it isn't. I could just as easily make the statement that Facebook is just for people to organize parties, but blanket statements like these don't do much good in describing sites that have literally millions of subscribers.

I see this as a good thing.

And in any case, I see facebook as being a little more classy. I don't get bombarded with colors, music and other crap when I log on facebook. Now, if facebook were only for college students, as it started out, I wouldn't have a problem with it. As it is, I don't really like either of them.
