MeleeCrazy introduced me. I remember I used to skip school over at his house and he would play. First time I looked at the mud he was training on scarecrows and I thought it was the wackest thing ever. Then I started playing... game over.

The first two computer games I ever played were text-based. Hitchhikers Guide and Leather Goddesses of Phobos.

The 'rules monger' in my RPG first tried to get me on one of those WhiteWolf muds, Atlanta By Night or some such. I didn't care for it.

Whilst working on one of my text-based game projects, I had the idea that a multiplayer text game would be pretty neat. Too bad somebody already thought of it. I even forgot my first initial experience with MUDs.

I did play at Threshold for awhile, but got a little bored with it, and the fact that you can't advance well unless you shell out $$.

I was introduced to FL by a co-worker while I was working at Steak 'n Shake. He was totally into FL, and I believe he was around when FL was born. I can't remember any of his characters' names, though. We lost touch when he joined the army. KH, if you're reading this, send me a PM.

Since I found FL, I've tried out some other MUDs, mostly ones based on a specific area of interest. WhiteWolf, Wheel of Time, etc. None have compare to FL.

Started out listening to a friend talk about Eternal City, back when it was free. Then went to As the Wheel Weaves, before it changed ownership a few times. Got banned for being a teenager, before I was a teenager (thought that because everyone there was an adult, and they yelled at me when I did something wrong, that I should rebel against authority). Came to FL with a few friends, in early-mid 1.0, and one of them got banned by the Description Nazi. The rest continued on and I got better than them, so they fell away (I tend to get better at games than them, after which they give up). Picked up and decided to go back to Runescape with them, since there was really no "better or worse" in Runescape. Went to Runescape for a while, which was entertaining in a tedious sort of way. Became a member there, and then they introduced 3D, which pissed me off, so I left. Arbitrarily decided to come back one day and try it out, found some of my old descs, improved on them, and the rest is history.

One word... CAMS. A high school with a group of people who played AR on the same network. They got me started there' date=' and I was the bottom of their pk foodchain. But I got hooked, switched over to FL during beta, and ended up staying.[/quote']

Who the hell are you? My bro and his friends started playing AR in Duncan's classroom.

I played a WoT based mud for about 5 years, It was my second mud but I was really a fixture there. I had mortal leaders in every guild and eventually an imm, then the mud shutdown and I stopped mudding for about 3 years. One day I was eally bored so I thought hey I havent done this in a long time so i did a google search. I tried a couple muds but they sucked arse and then I stumbled into FL. I really loved the idea of enforced RP and it had Ninjas! Anyway, i've been hooked ever since.

I graduated 2001. Most of the people who played AR was a year or two older than me (class of 1999 or 2000). We would play AR/FL inbetween unreal tournament/quake/starcraft lan games. There were also a younger group of people who joined too. Steve, ben, etc. No idea what happened to everyone. Duncan was a cool teacher... hehe we played during his class too ;) .
