I was digging through my harddrive, and I happened to find a couple of these oldies, but goodies. Enjoy.

You smile at her.

M'Dammel Park

You stand amid M'Dammel Park. The peace of nature surrounds you,

and the scent of freshly cut grass fills your nose with a light,

fresh smell. Oak trees surround you, and shade you from the

hot sun.

[Exits: north east west]

(Magical) A magical spring flows from the ground here.

(White Aura) Athelea the Beacon of Hope, Heroine of the Healers is here.

Rhangorn the Master of Adamantite is here.

(Charmed) (White Aura) The Justice Guard Captain oversees the area.

Rhangorn beams a smile at Athelea.

The sun slowly disappears in the west.

The deep mournful notes of the dark temple bell announce coming of night.

Rhangorn says 'Lady Athelea, glad you could join us.'

You tell Athelea 'Would you like to speak in private?'

Athelea lowers herself weakly to the grass.

You shake your head in dismay.

Rhangorn looks at Athelea.

Athelea tells you 'Please give me a moment to regain my strength'

An air drake flies in.

Ensil bows deeply.

Rhangorn says 'Something wrong?'

You nod.

This opulently dressed woman has the bearing and appearance of a noble.

Her dress is of a luxurious midnight blue satin that clings to her willowy form. This rich fabric flows down her graceful arms and flares to fullness at the end hiding her delicate hands and perfectly manicured fingers. Long, slender legs are carefully cloaked from view within this waterfall of lush cloth, yet with every breeze and movement her garment embraces her supple limbs. Throughout this silky material, ornate designs are embroidered with black thread accented in certain areas with silver fibers. You become dizzy as your eyes trace the maze of intricate designs sewn into her gown like silver rivers cutting across a dark winter sky.

In sharp contrast to her dark attire, her pale face shimmers as the moon at night. With not even a slight blemish or scar to be seen, her sensuous lips are like a blood-red wound disturbing the smoothness of her skin. Abundant ebony curls cascade around her, surrounding her oval face, with various thick locks elaborately pinned up with sparkling gems. Dense lashes matching the same dark hue of her lavish tresses frame her large almond shaped eyes, encircling eyes the color of two pools of water reflecting the violet sky of dusk.

She has unlocked many secrets of the world.

Athelea has a few scratches.

Athelea is using:

Rhangorn beams a smile at Ensil.

Rhangorn nods at Ensil.

The night has begun.

Athelea says 'The chill of death has been strong in the past hour'

You sacrifice your own health to restore Athelea!

Athelea gasps in astonishment.

Rhangorn raises an eyebrow.

Ensil raises an eyebrow.

Athelea whispers, 'Shaw....you shouldn't have'

Athelea looks at you.

The rustling of fabric is heard as Athelea stands.

Shaw shakes his head to clear the diziness.

Athelea closes her eyes momentarily.

A warm feeling fills your body.

Runarm tells you 'Wouldn't happen to have a 2 handed mace I could borrow for a quick duel would you?'

Athelea closes her eyes momentarily.

A warm feeling fills your body.

Athelea closes her eyes momentarily.

A warm feeling fills your body.

Athelea says 'Thank you'

Athelea looks at you.

You smile at her.

Athelea closes her eyes momentarily.

A warm feeling fills your body.

Athelea closes her eyes momentarily.

A warm feeling fills your body.

Athelea closes her eyes momentarily.

A warm feeling fills your body.

You shake your head.

You say 'That is more then enough'

Athelea says 'Come....you should rest in a safer place, while you recover'

Shaw smiles weakly.

You now follow Athelea.

Ensil looks at you.

You bow deeply.

Rhangorn drinks water from a magical spring.

You say 'I'll let you lead the way'

Grell steps out from his cover.

Grell bows deeply.

Rhangorn says 'Shall I accompany? Or should we finish the conversation later...'

Athelea nods.

Athelea looks at you.

It starts to rain.

Athelea says 'Do you need assistance in rising?'

You now follow Athelea.

Ensil looks at you.

You bow deeply.

Rhangorn drinks water from a magical spring.

You say 'We shall speak later Sir Drael'arai'

Rhangorn nods at you in agreement.

You stand up.

Ensil slowly floats to the ground.

The deep foreboding notes of the dark temple bell announce midnight.

You follow Athelea.

You follow Athelea.

The Second Floor of Orealt's Manor

You stand on the second floor of Orealt's Calidor Manor. A large

arched ceiling decorated with carved doves and set with a glass

skylight is directly overhead. The floors here are polished white

marble as well, and the airy, windowed room brings a soft breeze

in which billows out sets of white, gauzy curtains. A large balcony

rests at one end, overlooking Calidor Terrace.

[Exits: down]

A large vaulted chest is here, glimmering in gold inlay.

(Translucent) Athelea the Beacon of Hope, Heroine of the Healers is here.

Athelea says 'Please, make yourself comfortable'

Shaw's knees buckle a bit as he slumps to the floor.

You rest.

You nod.

You say 'Now...'

Athelea releases a weary sigh before resting on a chair on the balcony facing you.

You nod.

You say 'How did it start?'

You stand up.

Athelea says 'Airen and I were to attend a performance of her apprentice'

Athelea says 'However, she was unable to meet me because of some conversations with Arzaeth and Thoclya concerning their pasts'

You nod.

Athelea says 'I had inquired about the past of Thoclya because of the developments concerning Aynia'

Athelea says 'Airen proceeded to tell me a little but felt I was holding much back from her'

Athelea says 'As is natural, since I am unsure of anything at this time'

Shaw nods his head, paying close attention to Athelea's words.

Athelea says 'She said that she felt used and that I would certainly find what I needed on my own'

Athelea says 'I asked if she felt used by me and never received an answer'

Shaw frowns slightly, scratching behind his left ear.

Athelea says 'I hurried on to the Herald Library where I found her and tried to apologize, but the coldness was still there'

Athelea says 'She told me the news of her....your child and hurriedly left'

You say 'Why would she feel so used...'

Athelea says 'When I sought her out again in the Park where I saw you, I felt the same hostility and left since I felt she did not want me there to ruin this special moment for you both'

Athelea says 'This is why I feel that Thoclya has planted discord in our friendship. She called me the Used and the User last we spoke'

Athelea says 'Anyway, after I left'

Shaw bites his bottom lip, his brows furrowing in concern.

Athelea says 'I hear Airen's voice from afar asking why I left abruptly and then she accused me of jealousy'

You say 'Just recently?'

Athelea says 'Right after she shared the news of your child in the park'

Athelea sighs.

Athelea says 'We have had a long history together, Shaw'

Athelea says 'I'm sure it can be a bit much for a new bride'

You say 'A good...history?'

Athelea says 'I have always cherished it'

You say 'Athelea....I have not spoken a word of what you told me that day in the park...'

You say 'Even I was not sure myself what you told me...'

Athelea nods.

Athelea says 'I trust that you had respected my private thoughts and feelings'

You nod.

Athelea says 'It is not like me to regret'

You say 'As I have always done'

Athelea says 'However, the divine can see into our minds and hearts'

Shaw rubs his chin in contemplation.

Haden tells you 'Can you ressurect me I'm in Rheydin'

Athelea says 'Even so, I cannot imagine what Thoclya could say to make Airen think that my intentions concerning you and your marriage to be impure'

Haden tells you 'Please'

You say 'One moment'

**** GO RESURRECT AND COME BACK ****

You nod.

Athelea sighs.

Athelea says 'I am unsure I can do anything to resolve this'

You say 'I do not believe she meant what she said about the jealousy...'

Athelea says 'Why is that?'

You say 'Well...'

You say 'When she gets mad..'

You say 'She tends to say things...'

Athelea nods.

Athelea sighs.

Runarm tells you 'my thanks.'

You say 'I believe she felt hurt...'

Athelea says 'From what?'

You say 'Usually, her anger stems from pain...'

You say 'Why did she say she was mad at you at first?'

Athelea says 'She never said why, I could just sense it in her voice and demeanor'

Athelea sighs.

Athelea says 'Shaw.....I do not want to do anything to jeopardize your marriage'

You shake your head.

You say 'Pish posh...'

You say 'Dont be silly'

You say 'Afterall, it is you she is angry with.'

Shaw smiles weakly.

Athelea says 'You have been through so much, I do not want to ruin the blessing of your new child and love'

Athelea says 'For now, it is only I that she is angry with'

Shaw lays a comforting hand on Athelea's shoulder.

Athelea says 'But if she feels that our history and my feelings are a threat, it will inevitably have consequences in your marriage'

You shake your head.

You say 'I will speak to her and resolve things'

Athelea stands up and walks over to the balcony, looking down at the busy street.

Athelea says 'Shaw...'

You nod.

Athelea says 'Perhaps it should just be business between us'

Athelea says 'For a while, at least'

Athelea says 'We should meet as just Queen and Arbiter'

Shaw slowly joins Athelea at the balcony, frowning to himself.

You say 'If you think that will be the best course of action...'

Shaw takes a deep breath and exhales slowly.

A single tear sparkles like a diamond as it descends from Athelea's eye to Calidor Terrace.

Athelea says 'I do'

Shaw straightens himself out, and begins to head towards the stairs.

Athelea says 'Though the last time I isolated what was dearest to me, she was gone when I went to find her again'

You nod.

Shaw turns around to face Athelea.

You say 'I am not going anywhere'

Athelea sighs.

The Second Floor of Orealt's Manor

arched ceiling decorated with carved doves and set with a glass

skylight is directly overhead. The floors here are polished white

[Exits: down]

(Magical) A magical spring flows from the ground here.

A large vaulted chest is here, glimmering in gold inlay.

Athelea the Beacon of Hope, Heroine of the Healers is here.

You say 'Things will be resolved....'

Athelea whispers to herself, 'This you say, though I already see you drifting away'

You say 'Hmmnn?'

Athelea shakes her head.

Athelea says 'Nothing, Arbiter'

You nod.

Athelea straightens her posture and faces you with a distant expression.

Athelea says 'You may resume your duties'

You say 'Then I leave your highness'

Athelea nods.

You kiss her hand.

Athelea turns and faces the street again.

Shaw turns away from Athelea and begins to walk to the stairway.

Athelea seems to be holding her breath until she hears the last of your footsteps.

Shaw turns his head one last time to look at Athelea, before disappearing down the stairs.

Athelea releases a single black rose to be carried away from her by the wind.

You say 'Greetings, Arbiter'

Shaw's usual grim expression softens a bit as he smells the air.

Shaw kisses your hand. How continental!

Shaw says 'your Highness'

Shaw says 'it is an honor to be graced with your presence'

Shaw bows deeply.

You say 'It seems lately it is otherwise'

Athelea smiles ironically.

Center of the Pond

You stand on a slender marble and steel bridge crossing the center of the

Newander Pond and around the massive fountain. All around you is water and

wildlife, as fish swim and jump for food and ducks and swans paddle around

dunking their heads to eat and wash. The large marble fountain sprays water

through the air in all directions from the center, rippling the surface of

the pond, yet leaving the bridge you stand upon untouched. North of where

you stand, you are able to see a large, marble building standing in the

sparse light that manages to wriggle through the canopy here.

[Exits: north east south west]

A large marble fountain carved into the shape of dolphins shoots water into the air.

Nixaru is resting here.

(Translucent) (White Aura) Shaw the Evil Overlord of the Tower is here in a watchtower.

(Charmed) (White Aura) The Justice Guard Captain oversees the area.

You say 'Could we find a private place to speak? We have much to discuss in light of recent events'

Shaw's eyes search the pond for a few moments before he responds.

Nixaru nods.

Shaw says 'indeed'

Shaw says 'shall you take us?'

You say 'I do not know this city as well as I know my own'

Shaw says 'let us head to my headquarters'

You follow Shaw.

The Conference Room

This room is dominated by a long table, which seems to be made of

polished black glass. Surrounding the table are about a dozen solid wooden

chairs. Several more such chairs are along the walls of this room. On the

walls are portraits of the current elders of Justice, and on the south wall

is a portrait of the leader.

[Exits: (east)]

(Translucent) Shaw the Evil Overlord of the Tower is here.

Shaw nods.

Athelea pulls out a wooden chair from under the table and sits down.

Shaw nods.

Shaw finds a wooden chair of his own to sit.

You say 'There is much you keep from me. Though I respect your privacy, it restricts how I can help you'

Shaw taps the armrest of the chair nervously, avoiding eye contact with you.

You say 'I've known you long enough to read your face and the recent age you have gained'

You say 'In a short time, you carry the burden of years'

Shaw bites his lower lip.

Shaw raises his head slowly to look at you.

Shaw says 'times have indeed been difficult'

Athelea looks at you with a softened, sincere expression.

Shaw says 'Luorath...'

Shaw says 'you know he has been after me for years'

Athelea nods thoughtfully.

You say 'This I have known'

Shaw says 'our rivalry spans even before his immortality'

Shaw says 'never has he been able to penetrate my emotional defenses...not many are able to'

Shaw scratches behind his left ear.

You nod.

Shaw says 'until recently...'

You say 'You have never left yourself as vulnerable as now'

Shaw says 'he has found my weakness...in the one I love most'

Shaw says 'on my wedding day'

Shaw phases back into existence.

Shaw takes in a deep breath, exhaling slowly.

Shaw says 'he struck'

You raise an eyebrow at the notion.

Shaw says 'he performed some kind of ritual...'

Shaw says 'he placed a curse on me'

Shaw says 'yes...the...'

Shaw clears his throat.

Shaw says 'The Ritual of Unyielding Sorrow'

You gasp in astonishment.

Shaw smiles ruefully.

You say 'And what does this....'

You say 'Ritual entail?'

Shaw chuckles softly.

Shaw says 'unyielding sorrow'

You say 'This I have gathered myself'

Shaw says 'but to be more specific..'

Shaw says 'my child..will not survive the birth'

Athelea shakes her head in disbelief.

Shaw says 'that is only the beggining'

You say 'I cannot believe that such a dreadful thing shall be allowed to occur'

Shaw says 'there is more'

Shaw says 'the second part of the curse...'

Shaw places both of his hands on the armchair.

Shaw says 'well...'

Shaw says 'the one closest to me..'

Shaw says 'will slowly fade away....'

Athelea covers one of Shaw's large hands with one of her own.

Shaw says 'and..'

Shaw chokes as he finishes his sentence.

Shaw says 'and will die..'

Athelea grips Shaw's hand with surprising strength to emphasize her words.

You say 'I will not allow this to happen'

You say 'The Ritual of Unyielding Sorrow?'

Shaw nods.

Shaw says 'thank the gods for Luqin'

You say 'This must have greater implications than the effects of the lives of your family'

Shaw says 'I...cannot say much more then that...'

You say 'The world exists on a balance'

You say 'A Ritual such as that cannot exist without its antithesis'

Shaw says 'there is a way to reverse it'

You raise an eyebrow at the notion.

Shaw nods.

You say 'And is it possible for us mortals to achieve?'

Shaw says 'Lord Luqin...has aided us through this'

Shaw says 'he has done a lot of research for us...even putting his own existance on the line twice....'

Shaw sighs.

You say 'Aye, he has been precious in my personal crusade, as well'

You say 'I hope he does not spread his Projection too thin'

Shaw nods.

Shaw looks at your hand on his own and blushes.

Athelea seems to be debating something as she draws within herself.

Shaw says 'He found...'

Shaw says 'he found a way to reverse the ritual'

Athelea returns her attention from her own thoughts to your words but seems a little more wilted.

Shaw says 'for the Ritual of Unyielding Sorrow...there is a Ritual of Purified Hope'

Athelea nods thoughtfully.

You say 'Is it possible for a mortal to accomplish?'

Shaw sighs.

Shaw says 'oh no....'

Shaw says 'Airen...'

You say 'Hmm?'

You say 'Is something wrong?'

Shaw says 'she sounds...angry...'

You say 'About what?'

Shaw says 'She may still be insecure...'

Tears of shame threaten to spill from Athelea's eyes.

You say 'I see'

You say 'I shall take my leave then'

The rustling of fabric is heard as Athelea stands.

Athelea pauses before heading towards the door to the Conference Room.

Shaw says 'how long can we do this?'

Shaw says 'how long will we refuse to be friends?'

Athelea releases a weary sigh.

You say 'Despite everything'

Shaw looks at you.

You say 'Despite the coldness with which we have treated each other for some time'

You say 'Despite insecurities and jealousy'

You say 'We have always remained friends'

You say 'I have always been watching you, trying to reach out to you both'

You say 'But my spirit stops short at the possibility of causing a rift'

You say 'I hope before it is too late, Airen realizes this'

Shaw shakes his head.

You say 'Both of you need as much love, as much faith as possible'

You say 'You have a reservoir of your own'

You say 'But you defy a powerful god'

Shaw says 'which is why we need all the aid we can get'

You nod.

Shaw says 'now is not the time for us to be argueing...'

You say 'I agree'

Shaw says 'it is not the time for us to be seperated...'

Shaw says 'I wish I could make her see how much I love her....'

Shaw places a hand on your shoulder.

Shaw says 'I do not wish to choose between my best friend...and my wife'

Shaw says 'I want this to end...'

You say 'As do I'

You say 'For so long now'

You say 'You do not realize what this isolation has meant'

You say 'To me, at least'

Athelea turns her tear-filled gaze to the floor.

Shaw sighs.

You say 'I do not know another resolution'

Shaw says 'I have sensed your pain'

Shaw says 'I have tried to converse as often as possible...'

Athelea nods with her gaze still fixed to the ground.

You say 'Above all your faith and love in each other is paramount'

Shaw nods.

You say 'I do not wish to cause a gash in your bond in which Luorath might strike'

You shake your head in dismay.

You say 'I do not know what Thoclya's motives are destroying my friendship with Airen'

You say 'But I feel most certain that this has been her doing'

Shaw says 'I think I know what is wrong...'

Shaw says 'she was hurt that you would not confide in her'

Shaw says 'about Aynia'

Athelea furrows her brow in confusion.

Shaw says 'she thought the friendship to be closer...'

You say 'Perhaps it was a mistake, but I have lived my life guarding myself from others'

Shaw says 'as have I....but....'

Shaw says 'sooner or later...'

Shaw says 'you have to find people to trust'

Shaw looks at you.

You say 'It was out of personal weakness, I believe, that made me share what I did to you'

Shaw sighs.

You say 'It is a measure of how close I am to others that I hide my pain from them'

You say 'My troubles should not affect anyone outside of myself'

Shaw turns his gaze from you, obviously hurt by your words.

Shaw says 'I see....'

You sigh.

Shaw scratches behind his left ear.

Shaw says 'well then...'

You say 'I see it time and again'

Shaw says 'I suppose I shall leave....before your weakness allows you to tell me something you would rather not...'

You say 'The disaster of sharing my true thoughts'

You say 'My true feelings'

You say 'It happened after doing so in the park'

You say 'It has happened again'

Shaw phases back into existence.

Without look at you, Shaw begins to head torwards the door of The Conference Room.

You say 'If Airen feels threatened by me, in my heart I do not blame her'

Shaw says 'I must return to her'

Shaw walks east.

You tell Shaw 'For I have always felt that we were fashioned by the same soul'

Shaw tells you 'Whom?'

An Immortal tells you 'Why try to save them..?'

An Immortal tells you 'You know as well as any that their path has already been written.'

You tell an Immortal 'This is not so. Fate is dynamic and faith & love the most powerful tools of change'

An Immortal tells you 'You see, heroine. That change is what I am counting on.'

An Immortal tells you 'I expect Shaw to change into a jealous, bitter man.'

You tell an Immortal 'You underestimate him, then'

Shaw tells you 'That was very hurtful Athelea...'

An Immortal tells you 'Oh I don't think so. In fact, I think you all underestimate how persuasive I can be.'

You tell Shaw 'You have misunderstood me. Though it is common, I did not expect it'

A Wraith slowly fades into thin air.

A Wraith cloaks his presence.

A magical spring flows from the ground here.

A pair of red eyes glare at you from a dark form.

A Wraith says 'Don't bother signaling the Arbiter. Only you can see me.'

Though dwarfed by the divine apparition, Athelea remains standing tall.

You say 'I would not wish to summon him here only to cause more pain'

You sigh.

A Wraith says 'Good, at least you are learning.'

Shaw tells you 'You only confided in me....because...you were weak...'

You tell Shaw ''I do not allow my troubles to affect anyone outside myself''

Shaw tells you 'Not out of friendship...but out of need to have someone to share your problems...'

A Wraith says 'That stubborn Arbiter does not know when he is beaten.'

You tell Shaw 'By confiding in you, I have remained true to that motive'

You tell Shaw 'You are part of myself'

You say 'His reservoir of Hope cannot so easily be drained'

A Wraith says 'No, but it can.'

A Wraith says 'And I will be the one to do it.'

A Wraith says 'Allow me to show you something.'

Athelea suspiciously arches an eyebrow.

With a wave of Luorath's hand, images flash before your very eyes.

Shaw tells you '....I...'

With the flick of Luorath's finger, the images suddenly freeze.

Shaw tells you 'I...didnt know....you felt...so...'

The image shows Shaw and Airen standing side by side, standing over a ragged doll, crying, with Luorath in the background.

Athelea narrows her eyes.

As Luorath brings back down his arm, the image slowly fades away, but not before burning the image into your mind.

A youthful fervor rekindles Athelea's face.

A Wraith says 'You might ask yourself why I would fabricate this.'

A Wraith says 'My answer is..'

A Wraith says 'It is not a fabrication.'

A Wraith leaves in a swirling mist.

You say 'No, Wraith. It is not a fabrication'

You say 'But you pick one fate in the ever changing winds of time'
