Roykagh
In what way are they broken? I was told the opposite, though granted I haven't played it myself.
Pieman
Well it's a game with a ton of great ideas on paper, but none of them translate. You're supposed to be able to do all this cool hiding and running and stuff. You're a highly trained assassin, whuch is why you can pretty much climb every wall in the game, but so can those fat underpaid guards. So to hide and get away you need to "Break the Guards Line of Sight" which is nigh impossible, because when the game doesn't force you into the fight mode with fight camera, they chase you just as fast as you run. You climb the side of a wall, they throw their shoes at you and knock you off, if you actually get up, so do they. The game gives you all these cool teasers, then forces you to fight. And not to mention the absolute crap of the combat engine that you have more or less no control over past pressing the x button.
Raargant
My main complaint is that the damn text is too small (and, for my TV at least, not clear enough). I can't read anything without going REAL close to the screen!
The Wayward Knight
Maybe all of that crap happens on YOUR game, but not in mine. I have escaped the guards by running faster than them, and they can't climb every wall, but they can sure as hell find a ladder or pull up onto a ledge. Honestly my only complaint about the game is the RARE graphical/gameplay glitch and the fact that the violence just isn't violent enough. I want my sword to cut off his shoulder, not find itself halfway through his arm with his chainmail still intact.
The Wayward Knight
And as far as the combat engine goes, you haven't played far enough into the game, it seems. You get more combat options the further you go.
Grishnak
I agree with TWK. It sounds to me more like you aren't very good/haven't played very long than gameplay issues. The game is absolutely beautiful, and the only REAL gameplay issue I run across is when trying to pickpocket thugs I do a gentle push sometimes. The guards aren't easy to escape, but in a bustling city with obvious full militias they shouldn't be (think about every guard in Val Miran or Rheydin communicating and autoattacking you, not just having the chance to spot). By no means are you ever forced to fight, though when you do the combat is beautiful (if a bit easy with counter, IMHO). I'd recommend this game to anyone, and even friends of mine who aren't into gaming come over to watch/play very often (annoying because it cuts into my playtime). Chief
Am I the only one who still kicks back with some nice CS:S in the evenings? CSS is the best multiplayer game I have played to date, With the exception of FL, Natural selection and battlefield come close.
Pali
CSS is the best multiplayer game I have played to date' date=' With the exception of FL, Natural selection and battlefield come close.[/quote'] Try some Gears of War. As for Assassin's Creed... if you can't escape the guards by running, you're not running right. I stay and fight for the fun and beauty of it most of the time, but when I take a few hits and still have a dozen guys around and need to run, I'm almost always able to. Breaking the LoS isn't that hard when you know what you're doing. Seriously, the ONLY gripe I have with the game is that it's fairly repetitive. But it's repeating things that I find fun, so what's to complain about?
The Wayward Knight
It is repetitive, and I wish it had some form of multiplayer component or something that would make it replayable after you finally go through and finish everything, but hell, if I spend 45 hours on it and I only paid 60 bucks for it, that's not a bad deal. Besides, you are right. The repetitive issue just kind of slips by unnoticed in the middle of 'HFSTLA'. Aulian
I love my Wii. I even got a message sent to my Wii the other day from Marc' date=' and attached to it was a picture of Aulian wearing a t-shirt that says "I love druids". [/quote'] MUWAHAHAH! FEAR THE T-SHIRT! Pali
For the record, Mass Effect = AWESOME. Difficult, but with an amazing storyline and style. EDIT: And, in my opinion, a more worthwhile purchase than Assassin's Creed. I'm 15 hours in and have barely done anything.
