Titles

I was just wondering. How many of you actually know every title by heart and what level and class it denotes? Class is usually easy to figure out but it gets confusing with level. Or to what extent do you know them? (Ignoring the fact that everybody should know the pinn titles)

Ex: [ Avian ] Blankety Blank the Student of Owaza

would mean this is a 39th level ("rank" if you're in game) Ninja.

I'm actually making a list of all the classes and their titles. Hehe it's easier to prepare if you know exactly what you're up against.

I keep a list for pre-pinn action. Mostly I know within a 2-3 rank range based on title, but sometimes forget a few.

It is nice to know, however, if that fire giant warrior has 6 ranks on your elf paladin.

I've got a pretty good head for it, but I'm usually not entirely sure. I don't really care about rank (dis)advantage, if I want someone dead, I'll go after them.

I know just about all mage titles at 15 are the Creator, and Warrior and Blademaster are Swordmaster and Sword Master, respectively.

I can usually guess about what level people are from the years I have been playing, never actually made a list up though

I'm pretty much the same as Grish... for just about everything I can tell within a 2-3 rank margin of error what class and what level. Lich/psi/vamp/sader titles I don't know as well though.

I don't see how level makes any difference. If you have something worth fighting for, you fight regardless of the size or number of the enemy.

There are plenty of other approaches to that which are just as valid. Not everyone is trying to be a martyr.

It might still be worth fighting, but your tactics against many classes can and should change when at a rank disadvantage.

Six ranks down as a paladin against a FG warrior though? I'm not sticking around to find out what a bash-lock feels like.

Agreed. My reasoning is simply knowing what my opponent has at his disposal. Whether he is eight levels below me or eight levels above, it's nice to know if that ninja has assassinate yet. (Assuming you don't already know of course) It's good to know what to prepare for, what not to have to prepare for, etc.

I've got a list of every class title aside from Lich. I know the Lich lvl 50 title only because of Islildien. Nice to have the list when looking for someone, but at the same time it's not really useful for me at 50 because at 50 I'm looking for all the lvl 50 titled people rather than some pre-50.
