Ghrialton
Just ranking a thief, decided to take some time off for thieving when I spy a target in central square... hide sneak You attempt to hide. You attempt to move silently. w bj mage You hit mage on the back of the head with a lead filled sack. Mage goes to sleep. <---all right The day has begun.<--- d'oh! The cheerful notes of the temple of light bell announce sunrise. gag mage hide You step out of the shadows. You put a gag on mage and hope it holds. You attempt to hide. l mage (glowing) shinies appr mage You step out of the shadows. You approach mage. pry heavy shiny <--- Should have went for stuff in inventory. You trample around loudly again. <--- I missed this. You fumble the attempt. Oops. Let's hope gag worked. Mage wakes and stands up. hide You attempt to hide. e You step out of the shadows. Ack! hide sneak You attempt to hide. You attempt to move silently. ----- Shortly later, and I notice he hasn't moved from CS. ---- w Mage utters the words, 'oculoinfra uizug'. aff You are affected by the following: Spell: detect invis : for 5 hours Spell: detect hidden : for 5 hours Mage utters the words, 'uizuguburuhl'. ----- Weird, so I back off for a moment, and contemplate ----- ----- my next move. I figured he would have bolted. ----- w LousyMeddler beckons for everyone to follow. <--- Oh, no! He's off to rank in a nohide area! I better act fast! l mage (glowing) shinies You peek at the inventory: Held shinies. steal bag mage <--- bag??! Got it! ----- He left shortly afterwards. A bit later... ----- l in bag A travel bag holds: Nothing. <--- Arg. All that for nothing. I declined to attempt a PK earlier, since I didn't think that any player who knows better would have sat around in CS after being blackjacked and gagged. I thought it would have been somewhat trashy. At least I got a free bag out of it. Great experience, even though not much happened. All my other characters have been somewhat passive, so it's a step forward to have a character that is at least passive-aggressive. Right?

Ghrialton
I've been trying to think of a faster way to train pry than just prying stuff off of random mobs, but nothing comes to mind. It's been slow going so far. I do have an idea of what type of mob to look for, though. Blackjack, steal, hide, and sneak are all mastered, though. The Lemming
If you can find someone to help you that is great. Prefferably one of the opposite sex. Nothing better that continuiously taking of her...gloves.
Goomf
Why is it that the mage woke after the first fumble? I remember that it was after two or three fumbles...
Grosek_
Yeah, I guess that was changed. I went to train pry thinking that was that case. Training pry is just hell now.
Goomf
Yea, maybe I abused it too much with Goomf. Ah well.
H&R
I think it has to do with if you guess the weight right or wrong. It's either that or you have to master pry to make them continue to sleep when failing the first time. Or, it was changed after I con-died Nesaren. Nightmare_from_hell
I believe it depends on your proficiency AND how close you are to the real weight... if you try to pry something heavy but you thought it was weightless your definitely more likely to wake up the target more often than if you tried to pry that same item and you thought it was medium... (From my experience at least...)
