corpsestomp
Well, I'm giving Inehvar a break for now. I've made umm....lots of enemies. I think just about every 50 right now has felt a blackjack upside there head. Took a couple deaths, but I still think my first pinned thief has been doing alright. Anyway, I'm really looking into rolling an alternate, but I've almost no idea what to do. Necro or blademaster is looking kinda fun, or an invoker, since there are almost NO mages at 50. Ideas? Talcian
Lawful Evil Savant... battlemage or invoker. Drow maybe? Or even just human.

corpsestomp
Well, maybe you'll see a drow bmg or invoker strutting around soon.
Icor
I hear BMGs are pretty fun, but I've never played one.
mya
BMG are a logistical nightmare. Even with scripts. Invockers are a lot more relaxed. But BMG go from full loot to full PK with just getting a weapon (Dancing blade). Invocker will make you wait 4 hours to fully charge a staff. Evangelion
I did not use aliases, a modified affects list, or triggers with my battlemage, and I did just fine...
HBwillie
i have never used aliases macros or triggers on any character except for training. i use the default prompt and affects lists. the newest thing i use is the modified score sheet. I went from 0 caster experience to a pretty decent Bmag with Tarandil if I do say so myself. Oh and another thing. NEVER EVER have any triggers/scripts for spells on that sort of class. One dispell and you are lagged forever.. It will get you killed 100% of the time..

Sometimes people in my clan have things I want. So I try and take them
Kyzarius
Lol hardly. Slow + a good affects list = EASY Play. One dispell and you are lagged forever.. It will get you killed 100% of the time.. Triggers no, alias' yes. no one said anything or supported the use of triggers for bmages. Alias' however are crucial to any caster. You dont want to type c 'dancing blade' sword when you cna just type dblade sword and have it done with. Or c 'sharp metal' when you can just type sm. ...and yes you can play quite effectivly without the modified affects table, but its much more convienent to use it (searching a 20 item long effects list for what key spell you might be missing is much slower than glancing at the 5 affects you have listed across the top because they are crucial), same with using highlights. I, for example, have highlighted the text "The white aura around your body fades." so that it comes up in blinking red, and ya know...I havent missed my sanc dropping since. Done the same for when I land mal's and other things in bright green. I geuss I am saying it may be "buff and butch" for someone to proclaim that they dont use those sissy things, but the truth is they do make things more in your face and help sort things out, and the less sorting you have to do as a player the more time you can focus on the important things like tactics, running and chasing. 'tarako
'macros are helpful as well. aliases? just type the spell and hook it into f1. instead of cast 'dancing blade' you hit f1. much much simpler.
corpsestomp
I use macros for things like putting on and taking off demon-faced talismans to get rid of that noremove weapon. I also have f1 bound for when I make a new character. It drops my maps, sets up my prompt, scroll 0, brief, and a few other things.
Pali
Personally, I love the in-game alias system. Every single one of my custom emotes are all put in there... Vryxtyx had the max # of aliases possible, and I ended up deleting a few to make new ones at various points.
Kyzarius
Wintin uses alias's like macros you just use ; as a seperator. just to clear up.. trigger (aka action) - an action that is triggered by a string of text. highlight - looks for and changes the color of a string of text. alias - a single command executes a different command, ie. commune 'protective shield' ...becomes... pshield macro - a series of commands execued by one word. sub - idenifies a line of text and substitutes in a different line. hotkey - defining a specific key to exectue a command ('Tarako, this is what you suggested.)
