Arena - Wight.

Can the effects caused by the Wight in the arena PLEASE be removed when you win OR lose the match?

I am so annoyed with this damned creature right now I'm going to spew.

and make the wight harder to kill so not everyone has this stupid staff

I've refused to fight that thing.

Harder to kill? My characters die to the wight more than they die in PKs.

The worst part is when you're cabal warring, or something, and you beat the wight only to have it blind, weaken, curse, plague or something the round you kill it. Blind is the worst, because you can't get the item you came for.

Bleh.

Then blind should be removed from the wight and replaced with dirt or something.

That thing is UBER hard to kill with a LOT of chars. I have found that unless you can hit its vuln, or are a well dressed warrior type, you cannot beat it.

Make it harder to kill? I think that's what the immortals intended on doing when you couldn't flee from it and sleep on the tick. I find when I blind it and flee, it follows and does a blood gout or whatever to re-engage you.

very annoying.

So no, it's hard enough as it is. Sometimes I'm able to rape it, other times I get slowed, plagued, poisoned, blinded, weakened, enfeebled, silenced.. every damn thing in the book, and it STAYS after I win IF I win.

From experience that Wight uses spells/skills based on your affects list.

If I'm flying, it will spam hurricane on me, if I have sanctuary alot of the time it will dispel me silly. I can't remember the last time I had trouble with it though, as for being blinded once the fight is over that's what red's are for. Who doesn't carry around atleast 4-5 in their inventory?

If that is true, then it suggests a fighting strategy of going in with minimal buffs.

There is no strategy. Some classes *are * their buffs and most classes cannot handle the amount of damage the wight can deal without buffs. This, as far as I can tell, is the way it is to keep certain classes from getting their hands on this.

Show me a necro that can kill the wight without buffs. How about a rogue or ninja trying to re-equipped?

This fight is plenty hard and it's reward is incredible.

And not only that, if you are feral he fireballs and stuff

If you blind/dirt it, it quaffs a potion and can see again! Tbh, that is the mob with the most sophisticated AI in FL

I killed the wight with Kurvikhel using no zombies four times. It killed me once ;P Bye bye to my Travens!

Something of that nature shouldnt be easy to get. About 50% of my IG deaths attribute to that bloody mob. If you cant do it, get someone who can.

Before Islildien moved on I tried a couple times only to settle for the ankhs. Of course he was human, but I am still very impressed.

My sole key to victory was actually due to a single syndicate skill.

I don't believe that is true mudder, I am pretty sure I have lost a con point from a death in the arena. However, not to give away all my secrets, but there is a certain method to fighting the wight. The more buffs you have the more of an arsenal the wight will throw at you. Such as with flying/hurricane, sanc/dispel, etc. I like to go in there with minimal buffs, depending on my class. Usually armor, stone skin, a no disarm weapon is pretty key, as should expect to become blinded/dirt.

Take a close look at the death message when you lose in the arena. Then come back and post.

This - though I don't know if we should be discussing it here. There was also another 'trick' which I've seen absued by players (amazing no one reports bug that help them but as soon as a necro's zombies are titan sized...) which sounds like it may have been fixed. That would be awesome.

Personally, I think the item it gives should be bound to you - that way you don't see the caballed necro's with the item because their warrior friend got it for them. THAT makes me sick - there is a reason the mob is made hard to kill for the classes that benefit the most. Its not something that I particulary argree with being circumvented by players being friends.
