WarriorCleric
So I found the one up to my job at the IT department for the Univeristy Residence Halls and Apartments, crushing the ego's of overbearing office managers. Had to go down to Flint Village to fix a printer that got 'jammed,' typically an easy job, well, this one was much easier than I thought. The office manager started giving me grip because this was the 'upteenth time it's jammed this week!' I smiled and said sorry, and took a look. They put a transparency sheet through a laser printer, which got through half of it before quiting, and they tried to pull it out damaging everything the transparency didn't damage going in. So I just start unplugging everything and put it on the cart and the manager starts to flip out because she 'Has lots of things to print today.' So I point out that someone put a transparency through the printer, and she was clueless and gave me more attitude about 'because they are now behind.' and she asked me if they would have the printer back by the end of the day. I stiffled a laugh and said no. Explained like a parent telling a child about something very complicated, how a laser printer works. Only perk this job has is being condescending to idiots and *******s. WC
Ghrialton
You should read BOFH, if you haven't already. Who am I kidding? Of course you have. Good stuff. As a parent, I've come into contact with large groups of other "adults" as the chauffeur for my 2nd grade daughter (I pick up and drop her off at school). I am constantly amazed at the inability of these so-called "adults" to grasp the basic rules of life. The scary thing is that these kids are going to grow up to be just like their parents. Sorry for the mild hijack... back on topic. I used to explain things like that to people who wouldn't understand. My wife calls them "users", or "sales-people". I called them "customers". I'm glad that my work now is a strict meritocracy, with little room for idiocy. I'm sad that you don't like your work, WC. I hope you have brighter plans in your future. Crushing the egos of lesser men only goes so far, but it does brighten the day somewhat.
Goomf
Yea, some people just have no clue. It's especially sad if they're adults. That's why I've excommunicated a few of my uncles and aunts. Tards.
Dale
That was priceless. I bet she cried when you left.
