'tarako
'well. The good news is that next week i can finally put some time into fl. The bad news is.. its finals week. I've seen two nervous break downs so far. Most caffeinated beverages dont stay stocked long, and i read the word prokaryote ten times in a row. How is everyone? anyone else with exams? im not really stressing. I need a 30% on my stats to pass the class. and a d on my bmz. fun. Last week i slept through my bmz lab final. not fun. The professor in charge of all the labs let me take it the next day at a 25% penalty. basically. i could only miss 6 questions to pass. but i got a B on it, best grade ever. went down to a C due to the penalty. but im good with that. this thread doesnt seem to have a point. KRins
I've been reading my calc textbook so much my eyes might be bleeding...but I don't have time to go look in the mirror to see if they are. I'm either gonna coma for about a week after thursday or just start swimming towards england in hopes of making the Liverpool match on Saturday. As if it matters?
Evangelion
Actually, James Madison gives "+" and "-" too, and they count towards your GPA. I believe VA Tech does as well.
The Forsaken
And would you mind explaining this GPA system with + and -? Every university I've attended, or visited, has had a system where an 80 is a B, or a 3.0, and an 89 is a B, which is a 3.0. Are you saying people are getting a B+ which could be like a 3.7? That's strange.
H&R
I have an exam on communication systems on saturday and modern physics a few days later. I also have a lab in c++ to finish before chistmas. (I'm never gonna complain about a bug in a game again, hah).

Tantangel
Maybe that's how they do it back east, but here it's always been one solid GPA score of a 4.0 of any A whether it's + or - and a 3.0 for any B. The only thing affecting it is the other grades that when I've calculated out my GPA based off my grades it came up exactly how it was on the final GPA so it couldn't be affected by any + or - at least at my Uni otherwise it would've been way off by doing so. KRins
FINALS ARE OVER FOR ME!!!! Now I can catch up on the sleep I missed in the last 48 hours of caffinated insanity. Grishnak
People would throw a fit if that were right. That's exactly right for both JMU and Virginia Tech. It's actually a decent system, and makes arguing with a teacher to drop a - or add a + much, much easier than the .5 system.

'tarako
'at miami gpa is calculated by assigning each class a whole number. like an A=4.0 B=3.0. Then you take however may hours the class is worth and times it by your grade. add those final numbers up and divide by total number of hours and thats your gpa. KRins
yeah...thats pretty standard for just about every college. Matter of fact that is the GPA formula everywhere...except some school have some mixed number scores instead of all whole numbers. Furthermore, if you mean Miami of Ohio I have nothing to say, but if you mean Miami in Florida...I HATE YOU...well not really you but the football team from that school is one of my least favorite and I hold football in an irrationally important place in my heart. random_clown
I'm currently enjoying my first year since I can remember when I didn't have finals creeping up around this time.
