Warmongrel
We are only a couple votes from being knocked out of 11th place on TOP MUD SITES. EVERYONE, PLEASE click on the blue lettering that says TOP MUD SITES in the top right corner of this web page then click on vote for this site. If we don't all pull together and vote right now we will slowly lose our place on the top 20. THANK YOU all of you who continue to show your support. KRins
I may be alone in this...but Warmongrel you are beginning to grate on my nerves. We are aware of voting...whatever you are trying to get out of this, it is a pretty lame attempt at getting some recognition.
Warmongrel
I could give two loads of crap what kind of recognition I get out of "this". Excuse me for caring. If everyone was voting, I wouldn't be posting. Go vote.
The Wayward Knight
Well, he's right. I don't vote.
The Wayward Knight
Besides, everyone cares about getting recognition. You may not be trying to get anything out of the imms out of it, but I'm sure you want them to realize that you are trying. And you sure as hell want us to realize you're trying. Evidentally it works
EyeSeeU
Yeah man, why does everything have to be viewed under a microscope... I mean jesus people. Who cares why hes exciting the masses on voting for the MUD that you play for free. I mean seriously you play it for free... If you really had anything better to do you'd not be on this forum trying to pick apart someones post and trying to say he/she is only doing this for self gain. How about we all take a deep breathe and realize that the sun doesn't go down, and it's just an illusion caused by the world spinning around... HEH! Ok now go vote... PLEASE! KRins
Not to continue being a big rain cloud...but people don't campaign for nothing. One reminder to everyone to vote would have worked, as the people who cared would read it and vote and the people who didn't would ignore it. He's practically made it into a voting crusade. Our community is one based solely on noterity and he has taken a very shallow and virtually mindless platform to try and become important. Put some effort into something more constructive. Voting obviously does not work...our dwindling active player base should make that glaringly obvious to just about anyone who can count. Now if he were doing something constructive like maybe coding up a new design for the webpage to be presented to the IMMs then hell yeah do it up brother man, but like I said in a previous thread he made about voting (one of the six or seven) retarded parrots get annoying fast. HBwillie
Vote please is an acceptable title. I'm not so big on this one. It's misleading.
Warmongrel
Actually, my little "crusade" worked very well. And unfortunately one little post doesn't work nearly as well as several. I'll be the first to admit I went overboard at first by posting it on every section of the forum, but hell I'm happy with the results we got out of it. As far as waisting my time, it took me about 90 seconds to post every post I've ever posted about voting. So I hardly think that was a waste of time considering I spend more time scratching my ***. What I think is hillarious is that the few people that seem to be offended by my posts about voting could have just ignored them like you said and the posts would dwindle down, but the fact that you all choose to insult me and call out my "selfish" ways just keeps these posts right up front for all to see. Which is fine with me because it continues to remind others to vote. That being said, Support your MUD and Go Vote!
Mindflayer
A higher ranking on the TMS will equal more new players. That's definitely something we need here.
The Wayward Knight
I just insult people because I'm compensating for having a small penis. Your vote threads aren't special.
Tantangel
I may be alone in this...but Warmongrel you are beginning to grate on my nerves. We are aware of voting...whatever you are trying to get out of this' date=' it is a pretty lame attempt at getting some recognition.[/quote'] What's funny about this is that if it was an Imm who kept posting over and over for voting threads, no one would really openly say anything. Yet when a Player posts these threads people get upset and start openly saying how annoyed they are becoming about them when no matter who posts them it can be better. I can honestly say that I don't post regularly because I usually forget about it unless I see a post about voting to remind me that I could vote and take all of three seconds to click the links and fulfill my votes or I could take the time to write a minute or two depending on how hard you have to think about how much I am annoyed about how someone keeps posting voting threads. I will both vote and post.
KRins
In all honesty...if an IMM made 7 different threads about the same thing, I'd still call them out on it. Spam is spam...regardless of the creator.
Pali
Out of curiosity, Tant, when's the last time you saw an IMM spam a post across five forum sections? I mean, if it's never happened, you can't really say we're treating him any differently than we do an IMM who does the same.
Tantangel
To be honest I haven't seen an Imm say vote all that much in a long time. I know way back in the day Chayesh and all would jump in on threads saying to vote every so often but never as far as the extent Warmongrel has. Despite that fact, if it's getting people to vote, spam away with vote threads to keep people reminded of the fact that people should vote. Aside from saying someone will donate X amount of dollars or something similar to it, when's the last time you've seen the vote count be so high since he started spamming across the forum about voting or when an Imm starts saying vote? I'm not sure about the time I was gone, but that's the highest I've seen it since he's jumped the spam post of voting without saying he'd donate anything. And to be honest when I see 5 people online at almost any given time I play, do you honestly think new people would want to stay at a place like that? More than likely they'll turn to places like CF which has around 30+ players at any given time even in off peak times or AR when there's around 20+ players at any given time not sure about off peak times. To see a HIGH vote count on a game with so few players it could mean we could get the amount of people to start playing and reach those numbers, otherwise though you can bash Warmongrel all you want, but I'd rather see him do that and get bitched at by players than to watch yet another person leave the game where every single player counts towards getting more people to play to begin with. 'tarako
'K. this might just make seem nerdy(er) but when I saw the word crusade I suddenly thought Warmongrel rank 50 sader has started a crusade for voting, shouted by a little messenger dude... Pali
Much longer response than I expected there, Tant. All I was talking about was our responses to him versus an IMM. Now... I won't dispute that his postings achieved results. But I would suggest that such results could've also been obtained with simply maintaining a single thread on the subject. People who are going to vote will be reminded and do it by the one thread, and people who don't vote won't be persuaded to by it being said twice instead of once. Likewise, some people won't care at all about the posts being all over the place (me, for instance... I think they're unnecessary, but they don't bug me), but others are just going to be a bit irritated by it.
Twinblades713
It might just be me, but I don't think Warmongrel cares (You can correct me if I'm wrong war) that he's irritating people. It's obviously been effective and I doubt there would be this much talk about voting if he used one thread. Check it out: "Hey, that's annoying that you posted all these threads about.... uhh voting. Hmm I better go vote. =D. But you're still annoying!" Vote!

As far as posting multiple threads across multiple forum sections, it is getting across to people who don't read certain sections of the forum for one reason or the other. For instance a lot of the time I refuse to read OOC Lounge because it's boring and pointless with posts of links to some random place to read or something similar. It almost catches the attention of everyone by doing so and as such, despite the fact that it is kind of annoying, I still applaud his effort to try and keep the votes high enough to remain pretty close to the Top 10.
